To me it's not necessarily the size of the G wake...it's the firmness! Its wake really launches and IMO is the PERFECT shape. But, some do like a steeper wake, and some like one a little softer...

One thing you have to take into account is re-proping isn't ALWAYS the best option. With the new 2:1 gear ratios, you have to be careful what you re-prop to or else you will be running WAY too high...
