You guys see the Fresh Air Exhaust diverter thing on front page? Pretty cool idea but very curious about how it mounts and the cost? Anybody seen one yet? It must rob some power. Do they mount with the rubber flaps or without? <BR> <BR>Any thoughts? <BR> <BR>Rick

That does look pretty cool, I bet it really quiets the motor down. Probably does a better job than the mufflers out there. A little outboard thinking applied to an inboard.

Looks interesting but I almost guarantee you it affects engine performance. 90 degree bends in the exhaust flow that far downstream from the engine are bad news. <BR> <BR>Also, it wouldn't work on a wedged Bu and might not fit a Supra or Tige' with a wake plate. <BR> <BR>Good idea nonetheless.

really the best idea is what i think Centruion is doing and venting ceratin modles exhaust out the sides of the boat.not sure if that changes much but it would keep a large percentage if CO fumes away from the swimdeck but wouldnt it rise up and get closer to the people sitting in the side back wrap around seating ??

I am skeptical about the effectiveness of this device. I tried wakesurfing behind my I/O, which has the exhaust coming through the prop. Well, the exhaust fumes were horrible while wakesurfing. I don't know what it was exactly about how the air circulated and how the exhaust came out of the water but the exhaust fumes were certainly prominent. I sold the wakesurf board because I thought the fumes were too much of an issue. <BR> <BR>P.S. Don't give me any crap about wakesurfing behind an I/O. I had a safety device installed to prevent contact with the prop...I won't go into details.

I would think that it would affect the shape of the wake to a degree an/or performance at high speed.

I can just imagine the stress it would put on the mounts for the exhaust flaps. Those things are meant to hold a little plastic flap on not for mounting an anchor that drags through the water. <BR> <BR>Even if it is "aero"dynamic it will still create some drag as the prop shoots the water at it. <BR> <BR>I am all for getting the boat quieter while at speed, as the exhaust is full open and no water to quiet it down it gets kind of annoying. <BR> <BR>Does anyone see it not tearing off the back of the boat and leaving some nice holes to fill in. and then if it does fall you are out $330 for the darn thing. <BR> <BR> <BR>
