Weighting tips for 2015 G21
 

Just curious as to how people are weighting their G's. I saw the video the G23 was best with 75% ballast. I have been surfing with all the ballast full. Any tips for the pros?

You can get a lot more info on the G's if you got to the PlanetNautique forum. Every boat gets better with more weight than stock, but different hull and surf system designs can change how they like to be weighted to maximize you results. In my experience, in the G boats, you will want to spread the weight out between rear, mid-ship and bow once you start adding weight over stock. Obviously rear weight is the most important, but with NSS if you get a lot of extra weight at the rear, due to the design of the NSS tabs the water will flow over the NSS (similar to SurfGate boats) and not give you the cleanest wave. That is probably why you heard what you did about "the best wave being 75% full ballast").
To compensate and keep a great wave, making it taller and longer....as you add rear weight, you also need to add bow weight.
I would say you want roughly 25-30% in bow compared to total rear weight. So if you have 3000lbs in rear and mid, you will be wanting roughly 750-1000 total in bow. In my boat I have a 500lb bow sac under front seats and then another 500lbs of lead bags since they are easily moved around if you want. I run right at 5000lbs of total ballast on my 24ft Centurion SV244.

I happen to own a 2015 G21, so I can give you a little more insight into weighting configurations on this particular boat. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to add crazy amounts of weight on top of the stock ballast... and to be completely honest, the best wave I've made is full rear and ZERO front ballast with NSS at 2-3 @ 11ish mph (personal preference). The wave is plenty big with lots of push.

The only extra weight we run is in the port side to offset prop torque, plus a couple hundred way up front as we never have people in the bow. We wakeboard 95% of the time.

We have a 2014 G21 that’s new to us and upgraded our ballast. We plumbed in (2) 400 lb sacks under the seats and added 500 lbs of Shot bags up front. We didn’t want to give up all the locker space.

Oh, I also wanted to mention the boat only has the driver in it. Also the shot up front is mostly on the port side of the bow, This cleans up the wash from the prop rotation on the starboard side.
