04 Xstar Ballast upgrade

So I am wondering how to upgrade the stock ballast on my x-star. Do i get the whole kit along with the three way valves that is available specifically for the x-star. This kit allows you to isolate the bags from the stock ballast. The other option is to get the x-star specific bags and just piggy back them onto the stock tanks. My question with this is how well does it fill and empty with a bag and tank combined and how would you run on-way valves? Does it work to just add the bag in to the overflow of the tank and then into the bag and then overflow out the bag out the boat. If you add a one way valve would that cause issues with the tank emptying properly and potentially imploding? If you don't have one can the bags empty all the way? Thanks for the help

Brett,
Lots of knowledge over on Teamtalk too, but I have the xstar specific system with the valves. Kind of a PIA switching them when the ballast is empty, but I don't have any risk of cracking a tank as the tanks and bags are both vented separately. Some guys with the overflow setup put pvc pipe in the bag so it can't deflate fully and not allow the hard tank to breathe.

Also, if you do add the PWT kit you need a walkway sac in the bow.

Like Willy said.

If you dont isolate the bag from the tank there is a small chance when emptying that you could collapse a tank. I believe wakakers actually sells a certain valve now in those kits to combat that issue. The valve stays inline and requires no manual work each time. I know it was added to the 210 piggy back kit a year or two ago max. So I would check and see if they added to the MC kit as well.
