WS vs JL
 

Since a lot of us don't get the opportunity to see these subs side by side. I figured that I would throw some pictures up of a Wetsounds XXX v2 vs a JL12w7.

Awww, the XXX looks so cute sitting next to the W7! :D

I wouldn't have needed to see them side by side to know the W7 was a much better sub..... But, it is much more expensive isn't it?

Edit- looks like only a $100-200 difference. Not as much as I thought. Actually noticed the W6 is cheaper than the xxx. I would take a W6 over the Xxx. Both are excellent subs though. Just didn't expect that the 12W6 was $150.00 cheaper.

I would pound both of them.

I bet the xxx will get louder. W7 might sound better. The power handling is very similar.

Woah, the size difference is striking. I wouldn't have imagined the W7 was so much larger.

I've made several boxes for my buddies 12" W7 and I haven't heard a XXX that is anywhere near the volume of the W7. The thing that impressed me the most was we were in a party cove one time and my buddy had his cranked at pretty much full volume for 4+ hours and that W7 didn't miss a beat. On other woofers, you can smell the voice coils burning/getting hot after that kind of play time.

Here is the subs I run. Left is a Sundown SA12 which as same mounting depth as the xxx. On the right is Sundown ZV3 12.

Besides mounting depth, how else does it compare?

Are we really trying to compare a SunDown to a XXX? Hmmm, guess it depends on how?

WTF I was just showing a picture of the new sundown sub I got and said the smaller one was the same mounting depth to give an idea how big the other one was. Thats all not comparing to XXX.
