Any value to bindings with no liner?
 

So I have a set of 2013 lf ultra closed toe boots. The liner ripped, so I warrantied them out. I was told to destroy the liner and take a photo to get my money back, so I did. No I am left with just the outer parts of the boots, any idea what they may be worth or what I could do with them?

get some thick neoprene scuba/surf booties and rock those suckers?!?!?!

Talk to your local LF dealer and see if you can buy the liners, I'm surprised they sent you money instead of replacement liners to begin with.

On principal I wouldn't sell them. I'd try to reuse them or give them away. If they replaced them, I think turning a profit on them would be bad Ju-Ju.

agreed. Add these to an old board, and use for when you have friends / newbies come out and ride with you! Never hurts to have an additional setup.

Put them in a box, give me the weight of the box, and I'll send you a shipping label so you can fedex them to me.

Ya that's the whole way that LF ensures you don't try to do what you're doing. They're nice enough to have you just take pics of the destroyed item instead of paying to ship it back to them. I've had several experiences doing this with boards. I don't think there's anything wrong with repurposing them for your own use but selling them would be a bad move.

For example, I turn my broken boards into wall decorations or adirondack chairs. If you can make those into suitable guest bindings with some thick neoprene boots, then that would be awesome. Otherwise I'd save them for parts in case you ripped the overlay on some other LF boots and you could combine them for one good set.

I have a warehouse of parts in my shed. If they were mine. They'd go in the parts bin. I don't care what you break at my house, I probably have a spare.

look for scuba socks and booties. No idea how thick you need them, but you can find all sorts of different thickness neoprene

As others have said, get some neoprene socks and put these on the boat board for friends. A lot of wake companies have great customer service and it'd be pretty poor to take advantage of it and possibly ruin it for everyone else.

There is no way you will make these work as wake boots with neoprene socks, I don't care how thick. You're asking for your guest to smash up their feet. Justin has the right idea, spare parts bin. The problem I always had with LF boots is the base plates bending. If you take a hard back edge catch and bend the plates of your new boots where the heel is 3/4" off the board, you'll be wishing you had those boot shells with the straight plates to put your new liners into.

You selling these for $$ means potentially one less person buys LF wake boots. If everyone did that it wouldn't take long for their warranty to be not so awesome. I have broken more LF stuff than I can remember 2004-2011, not the most durable gear but they do stand behind their product with a very good warranty and hassle free return policy.

I guess value was the wrong word to use, never had the intention of selling the boots. Just wanted some idea what I could potentially use them for other than parts. I agree with dyost, no way would they work with scuba booties., plus I already have some open toe boots for the boat board.... to the parts bin they go.
