2015 Gear
Well it is coming up to that time of year again. Has anything been spotted yet? don't forget some are sneaky and use new board shapes with old graphics.
I'm not sure if these are 2014 prototypes or if they are new colorways vor 2015

If you look at any recent photos or videos of BP his byerly board has all rounded corners so either a change on his board or r&d on a new byerly park board.
Can't be that time already...... I haven't even gotten my 2014 Slingshot setup yet.
Graphics on that terrain look good. Looks like a park specific board, super flex looking in that nose press pic. |
the 2015 obrien gear looks insane! definitely a huge step up from previous years

Does Ronix come out with their new gear in September?
I don't have any pictures or anything, but a couple weeks ago I saw Keith Lyman at Hexagon wake park in NC and he was not riding a Lyman. He told me that his shape was going to be discontinued for 2015 and Scott Stewart is getting his own pro model.
Well I was really about to order a new board this week but I may wait to see the '15 Stewart board now!
Just saw the 2015 Slingsot lineup! Pics weren't high-res so I couldn't see much detail of the graphics, but they're pretty much similar to the 2014s (you can easily tell they're Slingshot), some boards only a bit more "darker". Reflex is mostly green. Windsor is black on the tips and cyan on the center and bottom, Shredtown is black/dark with heavy detail graphics (I couldn't tell whether they're out of space type or what) more color but on the purple side (bindings are purple too), yellow/wood bottom. The whip is also dark with yellow and red tones, black bottom. The Pearl is leafy green with some flower graphics.
Sorry if my descriptions are a bit vague, the pics weren't high-res. I couldn't tell whether they have different channels/molded fins, etc., they all looked flat to me. |
i hear some of the CWB gear is staying the same for 2015

Just another drug induced Ronix graphic design. Donkey Pinata, gotta love it.

All the o'brien graphics look like they're from the 90s

Some very new stuff coming from O'Brien in 2015-
Those boards look almost identical to the CWB woodro Andy hahaha
which looks identical to a slingshot recoil

The O'Brien boards pictured may look like other wood core boards currently manufactured but what separates these from what's currently available is OB's new Press Pass technology that gives the rider 3 distinct press zones in the nose and tail. Here's a few unedited shots of Langley on his 2015 Bruce and Nomads from the OB 2015 shoot.
remember kids, Slingshot wasn't the first to make wood boards..... K2 Woody kids.
Nope they were just the first to perfect it!

Not big on the Ronix line so these may be old boards, but any idea what these two are? I saw them in the MC X-20 video

Swallow style tip and tail making a comeback?
I could be missing the point--if you're speaking about aesthetics or actual consteuction--but the k2 woody is not actually wood--it is a foam core wakeboard, no flex or anything like that.
When did Breddas start riding for Slingshot?
Everyone's just playing catch up to SS and Ronix...

I'm really liking the graphics of some of these boards, The Murray, the SOB and the Baker, but most of the O'Briens and the CWB's look like they are still designed for skiboards in the 90's.

What I don't understand is why it takes large companies like Hyperlite so long to update their website with the new gear. It seems like every year they have print ads out showing the new gear and then it another month or 2 before the website is updated to show the new gear...
