When wiring 2 6v golf cart batteries together in series, is it acceptable to use 4 gauge or should 0 gauge be used. <BR> <BR>Going with Stinger HPM brand, 4 guage is a bit more flexible, but if inadeqaute, I can jump up to 0 gauge. <BR> <BR>b/t 3 amps the max wattage is around 1650 watts

How big is the wiring to the amps? 4 gauge would work, but if its the weak link in the system it will clip. It's a short wire, but if you could go 0, I would do it.

4ga should be fine. It's what I use on mine. It's such a short run you can push alot of amps thru it before you run into any issues. My system is bigger...it's what I've been using this time around. I had 0 last time.

The wiring from the batteries to distrubution block is 0 ga. From the distribution block to the amps is 4 guage. <BR> <BR>That makes sense to go with 0 guage. Don't need a weak link in the power path.

There are formulas for this type of thing. The most critical matter is the length of the run. Just because the cable is smaller doesn't mean it can't carry the same current, it just means that it can't carry it over as long of distances. I'm sure you could make short work of this matter with a little google search.
