We are making a road trip from the Portland area to the Western regional INT stop so a couple of my crew can ride. We are dragging the X-star with us and wnat to hit a few places to ride on the way down. Also, since I had to work all summer and didn't get to ride any comps this year I am not eligible to compete. Any places around that area to ride when the crew isn't competing? Thanks.............

Shasta is about an hour north.
And I know of 1 other lake outside of Willow's about an hour drive south.
Not sure how far Oroville is from there

Oroville is about an hour also from the contest site.

Black Butte lake is about 20 minutes away. And if you want the best butter anywhere Keswick is the place to go. But, it is 50 degrees. Your from Portland so that should be warm enough. Ha ha.

I recommend Keswick. It's the afterbay for Shasta. The water is a steady comfortable 55 degrees.
You will have complete butter and wont see another boat! Paytons, Twelkers and Dinatales did it a couple of years ago after a WWA event and it was a great day on the water. The kids all skinned it too. Maybe a heater top or two.

Ha, being as I have rode in 39 degree water 55 will work if it's butter! Looks liek we will be throwing the drysuits in. I was hoping they would just take my money and let me ride exhibition for water time but no luck so far! We are gonna hit Shasta on the way down if it isn't empty. Thanks for the suggestions..........
