i have a '06 VLX with the two rear and centre ballast tanks. I also have the power wedge. I have played around with the wedge and tanks as well as the speed and cant really get a nice surf. Its hard to find people to go with due to my work schedule so at best i probably have 750 lbs of additional "people" weight in the boat. Any tips on how to get the nice surf without spending a ton on fat sacks would be appreciated

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you're going to need some type of additional ballast or alot more people (within reason of course) to get a good surfable wake out of that hull. Most of the guys I know that surf the new VLX hulls run between 2,000 and 3,000 lbs of ballast on top of the factory ballast. You'll also want to put a some weight up front, I would say a few hundred pounds. I surf a '00 VLX and we run at least 2,000 lbs of ballast, not including people and gear. Your boat will throw an awesome surf wake, it just takes a good amount of ballast to do so.
