doing air tricks at the cable. I heard it crack a little on the launch and didn't really think anything of it. after I exited I looked at the bottom and i had a crack square in the middle....sweet.

interesting, you had insert problems first...then your board broke. where is the quality control? hope your back on the water soon. <BR> <BR>you might consider a LF Ennen or Bonifay flexboard. much better imo.

That sucks. I work at a proshop in Portland and we sell 4 different brands. Slingshot is the only brand that I haven't gotten a board back with a warranty issue yet. Granted they're still very new and Im sure I will, as all boards do break, Ive just been very impressed with the overall quality of the boards. I have had some issues with their D2 boots though.

I thought about getting the LF press, but I can't say I liked it all that much. I really like the slingshot, I just hope it doesn't break on me again....They had a very fast turn around time though and their customer service has been great so far! I'm seriously considering the o'brien local cause they're a bit cheaper. Just curious but are you or are you not hitting the board on sliders and kickers/obstacles on the cable? If so, I guess I didnt know that Slingshots warranty was different then anyone elses out there?

JD, I agree that the customer service at SLINGSHOT is GREAT! i did the exact same thing as you to my 07 Recoil (wake riding only...no rails or kickers), and they were super super quick to help me out...only took about 15 minutes before a replacement was on it's way!

Jonny, slingshot does not warranty boards used on sliders. <BR> <BR>jay, most def. they were very helpful.

Since were on this issue with sling shot, has anybody had their bindings break loose when they were locked in. (The quick adjustment was locked in but on landed the binding broke loose and turned, messed up his ankle pretty good and out for 6 weeks.)

So you are only using the board on the cable for air tricks and never hit a slider?

i'm using LF closed toe shanes.

now the question is whether the inserts would be in less worse shape if they were 4-hole mounted. i was using the the D2's when my board broke. <BR> <BR>JD...how did you get your Shanes on the Response? we modded the baseplate.

so your's was like an 1/8 inch too narrow? did you just kinda drill out the hole on the plate a little bit...make the circular one a little more oval shaped?

right on. i'm thinking about doing that too. i wonder if it would be better to leave the circular hole alone, and just modify the one that's already an oval. other wise you could have too much play on a board with a skinnier setup. if a guy leaves the circular one alone it would keep the boot from potentially shifting i would think.
