has any body used this setup? shanes did not fit, what am i doing wrong?

Yea, i'm having the exact same problem. I tried to put the 2008 shanes on my 2008 recoil 138.

No Bueno.

Because of the LF plates the holes don't line up correctly, you'll have to "massage (read: grind)" the mounting holes out a bit (unless LF offers a different plate).

(Message edited by jealous_soul on June 04, 2008)

Liquid Force changed their binding pattern to a 7" pattern instead of the industry standard 8". You will probably have to mod the bindings to get them to fit.

yep....another reason to get slingshot bindings. I had shane bindings before my slingshot bindings. The slingshot bindings were way more comfy and nice and snug all over my foot.

thanks

wait so 08 LF bindings won't go on any other board but LF. doesn't that mean no other bindings will go on an 08 LF board? surely i'm misunderstanding.

iamnathanhudson 06-04-2008 7:38 PM

yeah, i was a liquid force die hard for a while but they are getting ridiculous with this plate deal. a couple years back they switched to the pro plate now they are making this plate. on top of everything, it seems you don't get the full amount of options with stance widths with older LF boards with this new plate.

I SAY THE COMPANIES SHOULD SCRAP THE PLATE SYSTEM AND GO WITH WHAT MAKES SENSE. THE FOUR HOLE PATTERN ATTACHES THE BOOT DIRECTLY TO THE BOARD AND IS PROBABLY THE MOST EFFICIENT IN GETTING RID OF HEEL AND TOE LIFT! NO PLATE = LESS WEIGHT!

before you switch bindings for the sake of fitting a new board, please consider the fact that comfortable feet is what's the most important. if you have to switch bindings to fit a board but love your current bindings, stick to what you've got now or demo something else.

personally, there isn't a board out there, slingshot or otherwise, that would force me to change my bindings.

my shanes didnt fit on my older byerly at all until i did some work on them... but they did work on my Ibex

bwood 06-05-2008 2:25 AM

My 07 watson's fit my 08 recoil, they must have changed the base plate in 08.

jealous_soul 06-05-2008 7:23 AM

the shanes are WAY better than the slingshot bindings (at least in my humble opinion). I ride the 08 shane ltds on an 08 ss response. I also ride a lot more cable than boat, and considering that it takes about a half hour to get in and out of the SS bindings, I'd stick with the shanes.

wakerider111 06-05-2008 7:42 AM

If the LF vantages were CT and had the SS mounting plate i might have dug those... ohh well.

deffinately something needs to be agreed upon by all companies or at least offer two different patterns on the boards. i think things will begin to take shape and "conforment" within the next 2 years or so

jhilltn 06-05-2008 7:49 AM

i thought lf boots were very comfortable a few years ago(06 transits for example). not really anymore (new shanes seem so stiff). i think a lot of people that are riding lf boots now just haven't tried something else. like slingshot pb floyds, haha, but i'm serious.
