Any ideas??

You can ship it freight. I have a few buddies who have done that before I will ask them how they did it.

Check with the Vegas boat dealers. I shipped a boat from Seattle to Minneapolis a couple of years ago. Had it winterized, shrink-wrapped( definitley do this- it is not an option if you care for your boat) and put on a flatbed- trailer and all- and shipped. I think it cost a couple grand.

Uship.com You put up what you want shipped from where to where and truckers and haulers bid on it like Ebay. You will most likely get a guy with a pickup to pull it for the cheapest. Make sure they have positive feedback. And you get free quotes.

Road Trip!!

Rent a Uhaul/truck, tow it then fly back
or
Uship.com
or
find someone that owes you a huge favor

I second what Will said. Check with your local dealer, and see if you can get it "back hauled" when they get a boat delivery. Since most inboards are built in TN and FL, you should be able to get it back hauled without too long of a wait. Just a thought...

put it in one of those jumbo jets

burberry03 02-27-2008 10:59 AM

Road trip it man......

teamvaldez 02-27-2008 11:06 AM

checking on all (ok, so not the jumbo jet) advice. Uship was a great tip. I will let you know what the outcome is. Thanks for all your ideas!

Call Sammy Orr Trucking and ask for a quote.

I used him on the first VLX, unreal service. and he tows for Supra, Moomba, Malibu as well.

(865) 856-2856

My guess would be 2500.

Need to crane the boat on its trailer to get on the truck though.

Have Eddie drive it to Orlando. He'll want to get some warm riding in after the freeze ride last weekend!

Uship is great but will probably cost 3k.

hyperliteguy_04 02-27-2008 1:09 PM

im loving the road trip ideas........

Hey Steven, we are in Orlando at Otown. Freezeride was a blast. (as always!)

As far a uship bids go, our lowest bid so far is 1700.00

I thought about the road trip but renting a truck for a one way started at 1200 not counting gas or airfare. 1700 is sounding good right now.
