innov8actionsports.com 11-11-2006 8:39 AM

Looks like the yamaha version, but ya they are work horses and they will do like 50mph

aidan 11-11-2006 9:02 AM

factory 11-11-2006 1:06 PM

that would be the yamaha rhino. they can do 50mph with the CDI swap. they are a blast to drive.

byrd 11-11-2006 1:09 PM

_jason_ 11-12-2006 12:41 AM

poserondubs 11-12-2006 3:39 AM

thank you johnny!!!!

bladerunner 11-12-2006 7:08 AM

why?

nickdakoolkat 11-12-2006 5:25 PM

jonny- Did you just call fords a POS?! ...Ford trucks are quite nice if you ask me.

big_xstar 11-12-2006 5:34 PM

Jonny... that ford is lifted like that on purpose if you must know.
Its referred to as a CALI-TILT lift.
Personally not a fan but very popular in the west.

wakeslife 11-12-2006 6:32 PM

Kevin- is that a joke??? Im dead serious...

aidan 11-12-2006 8:51 PM

Actually truck rides level with nothing on it. Truck has 8 inch lift with 37's, but put a boat and rhino and it's putting abuot 1500 lbs on rear....I guess it needs air bags.

big_xstar 11-13-2006 8:34 AM

Well I guess I am mistaken on his truck, but alot of truks in cali ARE IN FACT lifted tilted like that in purpose. And yes I amd dead serious also.

socalwakepunk 11-13-2006 9:23 AM

PreRunner look = Front end up

StinkBug look = Rear end up

I prefer level to slightly PreRunner...

socalwakepunk 11-13-2006 10:10 AM

PreRunner:

StinkBug:

madchild1 11-13-2006 4:04 PM

agreed tackleberry. stinkbug is hideous.

i was on the freeway the other day in rush hour and i saw this hugr black chevy 2500 crewcab coming up. it was skightly higher in the front, and had black rims. i was like "that has got to be a socal truck." as it passed if had a bright white california plate.

that stuff doesn't exist out here. at all.

on a side note, when i was driving through west texas (the REAL middle of nowhere) i couldn't help but see an amazing desert truck course. anyone else know what i'm talking about?

seattle 11-13-2006 4:19 PM

At least he doesn't have low pro's on it. Low pro's on a 3/4 ton or bigger are about as attractive as a fat chick wearing a g-string. It's just plain wrong!

socalwakepunk 11-13-2006 5:06 PM

I actually rode in a duramax 2500 w/low pro 22"s...had to have 6 fillings replaced...

norcalbrdrydr 11-14-2006 1:45 AM

Most people in California who do lift their truck don't actually lift it like that anymore. No one in Northern California atleast. Most people around here call it squatting. More than likely it is a leveled truck with the torsion bars tightened up to make the front a little bit higher than back. Not all rally style like the so-cal'ers like it. I believe they think that it helps them get over all of the potholes in the cities they live in.

As a side note, people in northern california dont lift 2 wheel drive trucks as a general rule. We actually have places that require lifts and 4 wheel drive. So, dont say the ridiculous look of a desert rally truck is a California-wide trend. It really is not.

jarrod 11-14-2006 5:56 AM

Mine rides level with just about anything in the back. This wasn't much weight, but the bike hangin off the back has a lot of leverage.

A few weeks ago I picked up 3000 pounds of hardwood flooring. It only dropped about 2 inches. It rides a lot better with some weight back there.

socalwakepunk 11-14-2006 7:07 AM

"We actually have places that require lifts and 4 wheel drive. So, dont say the ridiculous look of a desert rally truck is a California-wide trend. It really is not."

1. SoCal has plenty of places that require 4wd. We do, however, have more desert than NorCal. In the desert, where there is actually off road racing, we are going fast enough not to need 4wd, the wieght, front suspension and handling actually work out better.

2. You suggest cranking the torsions alone to get the look "squatting". Bad idea. F-s up the geometry of the front end, puts more pressure on the ball joins, causes them to fail. Do it right...A-arms, performance torsions (or coils), strut frames, and in the case of older fords I-beams & radius arms. If you really want to get into it, have the front end custom fabbed with some nice coil overs & uniballs.

3. "ridiculous"? That is your own opinion, right? or do you speak for everyone?

This:

or This:

(Message edited by socalwakepunk on November 14, 2006)

jt- was there someone on your boat last year(or the year before) trying to learn bs 180's at lake martinez? i thought i saw someone almost get knocked out and was going to go offer some tips but didnt think it was a good time.

longhornfan 11-15-2006 6:23 AM

When I was stationed in Virginia there were two low rider dualies (SP?) that I saw all the time. One lime green and the other hideous orange. Trucks like that should be legal to just smash into and run off the road to remove the eye sore.

mossy44 11-15-2006 6:43 AM

so........... can the rhino pull the boat out of the water or not?

madchild1 11-15-2006 9:33 AM

bah. herbst is overrated. and no, i'm not a robby gordon fan. i think that guy is a dipsh.t.

socalwakepunk 11-15-2006 12:12 PM

I'll look for a Vessels pic...

aidan 11-15-2006 5:15 PM

My wife used to work at SPY forever and she delt with lots of NASCAR guys + robby gordon. She thinks he's the bigest @ss in the world. P.S. she thought Boris was super nice guy. Yes in 4 wheel it will pull it out. I'll look for the picture of another rhino pulling out a 23ft partycat ( which is way bigger boat than the bu )
