Yea, you would be in for a wait using that pump (5 gallons per minute...how big is the bag you need to fill?).
Do yourself a favor and get a Jabsco Ballast Puppy reversible from WakeMakers, on sale right now for $235 and it comes with rocker switch, is ignition protected, self priming and comes with a great ballast impeller. Will fill/dump better than twice as fast as that one and since time is money on a boat, it will pay you back. Had these on my boat for last 3 summers with no issues. Just replaced the ballast impellers with new ones, replacements impellers are like $25 and easy to find. |
Its a harbor freight pump. Not even sure if its intended to be reversible. Its not ignition protected and I highly doubt anything else about it intended for the marine environment. Id be surprised if it lasted a season. Then theres always the risk of the boat blowing up.

Although the likely hood of a pump blowing up your boat, it's still very real possibility & sucks to those that have had it happen.
