DIY wake surfboard

I am about to shape my own wake surfboard out of polyurethane foam. I was hoping to get some feedback from people who have shaped their own. I've surfed some of my normal fishy shortboards but feel like something is missing. What would be a good size for an all around board for beginners and for people looking to do tricks? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Shaping a board or something that resembles a board is pretty easy. Doing a good job and know what to shape takes practice and experience.
Laminating the board will be a completely different task and the step where most DiYer virtually ruin their project. Rocker, rails and general volume distribution are the most important aspect the overall template is less important.

I will say it is an amazing learning experience.
But as chaos said, making one that performs great takes a lot of experience.

I am looking forward to the challenge and know its gotta be a little different from shaping my regular surfboards. Seems like they are much thinner and wider, there are soo many different funky designs out there and wasn't sure if there was an outline that works best. I'll post some pics when I finish... hopefully it works out...

Feel free to do a step by step of the project. I like watching projects like this evolve and especially if they work out.

I would check out a board you like that a manufacturer makes and just copy it. Why try to reinvent the wheel.
