Let's hear your dumped Wakesetter LSV setup

We're working on getting the LSV wake to full "Bonecrusher" status. It's close right now, but I want to hear what you guys that are slumpin' them are doing.

Right now we've got:

The factory 4 tank and power wedge set-up, A 500 fly high in each rear ski-locker, a 500 up front across the front seats. 260lbs of lead blocks under the seats toward the rear of the cockpit. 80 lbs of lead jammed in the very nose, all the way forward, and 500lbs of lead in pop sacs that floats, but is pretty much pushed all the way up to the base of the front ballast tank. (oh, and about 100lbs worth of amps on the observers side and a lead brick under the drivers seat to compensate).

We had been running wedge up, but put it all the way down last night. I rode before we dumped the wedge, but it looked pretty good. I rode last week with the wedge up two clicks and the wake was like a wall and was thin at the top. I'm thinking we run no wedge and add another 500 sac to the very back of the cockpit, or just run the wedge all the way down.

Thoughts? Who's gotten their LSV wake huge. I think we're real close to our X-star wake now, but haven't quite gotten the "holy crap" factor dialed. I know it's going to be possible. This thing eats weight like it's nothing.

23LSV (factorykitted)

MLS full , wedge down all the way, 550 in each rear locker, 750 up front, 550lbs of audio/accessories, high alt prop. It was rampy but super clean. It was perfect for my riding style.

With the wedge up two clicks, even with the high alt prop, we were sucking down the dinosaurs.. (4k? rpm) and that was with 1 person in the boat...

UNvisible 05-20-2011 11:22 AM

I dont think you can even use the wedge with the OEM prop if you have additional weight outside the MLS :dunno:

Change those 550s to 750s and your good to go. 750 in each rear locker and one in the bow, plus all of the other stuff with no wedge and you will be bigger than the XSTAR.

UNvisible 05-20-2011 3:23 PM

not sure how you're fitting a 750 in the rear locker on the 23LSV but more power to you... Our 550's were mis-shapen a bit...

If you want Mack status you need the following in the lsv.

Fly high 1100 in each rear locker.1000 triangle bow sac. Full mls. Wedge to your liking= nasty. Just don't submarine the bow. You will need to reinforce the engine divider walls with 1" square tubing to keep from blowing the wall out into the engine.

05mobiuslsv 05-20-2011 9:36 PM

Unvisible if you are talking about mis shaped sacs in your boat I can see that, the lsv dwarfs your boat in size. 750 save completely full in the lsv no problem.1100 says 85-90% full no problem.

05mobiuslsv 05-20-2011 9:50 PM

Oops says=sacs.

UNvisible 05-20-2011 10:07 PM

I clearly stated in my post that the boat I was talking about was a 23LSV

2000 lbs in each rear locker, another 500 in lead above that little tray above the engine, fill up the port ski locker with another 1000 in lead, the starboard ice cooler needs to be filled with beer, and just melt some iron into the cavity where the trash can goes in the corner. Take off the wedge, and invert it. Also load up the bow with a old 1975 15 foot Glastron. Now your ready to rock. :D

surf set up is:

1100 ibs. in rear locker ,1150 "L" shaped on rear seat, 550 ibs. in walk thru and another 550 ibs. in bow. plus 500ibs with batteries and stereo e.q.. depends on rider whether the wedge is up or down but perfect setup for my boat.

Not sure how to get it to Bonecrusher status but we have my buddies LSV to stock XStar with full ballast territory. His boat does not have the bow tank, we added 500lb sacs in the rears and another 800lbs of pop bags in the front and middle areas. We run the wedge two clicks up. This is plenty good enough for us rookies, clean, tall and rampy. We run the acme 1235 behind his monsoon and that prop is maxed with his setup and up to 1000lbs of humans. It takes a solid minute or two to fully plane out at WOT. I would suspect you will need a flatter prop than that if you have a monsoon like his (hopefully you have the stronger motor). His boat is a 2008.

We won't be doing any surfing.

NuBU are you serious with the 1100 pounds in each rear locker in addition to the stock tanks?

Dead serious, I don't run that setup as I only surf nowwdays. I saw that setup in an 08' lsv pulling a malibu wakeboard comp here a couple years ago. They were not using wedge. The pros were getting booted.

750's will fit, just not when you have a 5 gallon water tank for a misting system in the locker.:D I run 750 on starboard side all the time when we surf...

I just got my '12 LSV23 dialed this weekend:

MLS Left and Center Full, Front at 50%
1100lbs sack in left locker, 750lbs sack on left seat
High Alt prop, 10mph.

Wave is long, high, pretty, and has tons of push.

Sorry, no pics yet.

I Can Attest To This setup That Its Awesome! it feels Like It takes half The Lake To Get On Plane And Its Scary To Come Off Plane With All That Weight.

Btw.That Setup Is Not using A Wedge In The Formula.
