Battery/ alternator problem

About a month ago I left the nav lights on in my boat overnight. In the morning the boat started but my low voltage alarm was screaming. I switched the display screen which turns it off, but it kept going off through out the trip. Any how Ive gone through at least 10 cool down periods with the alarm still going off. My boat starts up every time, and the volts stay at about 11 to 11.4.

Ive taken both batteries out and charged them over night, and the charger says their charging, but never says they are fully charged.

Also yesterday my stereo wont turn on, all my amps are on, but nothing to the head unit, or driver control after I removed a battery to charge it.

My boat is a 2007 x star with two cranking batteries. Im trying to get some time to get the volts checked on my batteries. (gotta find a volt reader)

Any one know what my problem is?

Hate to say it, but it sounds like your batteries might be done. The next test is to check the acid with an Hydrometer. Basically you charge them up as far as they go, then you open the top and draw out some acid directly into the Hydrometer and seen what it reports as far as charge. If it is really low, you are likely looking at replacement.

If you want to be really sure, I would take them to a battery specialist, sometimes they can recover a battery with a really high amp charge.

I actually just got done at a battery shop, they tested them and they were fine. guess its the alt?

Parker,

Good or bad is entirely different from discharged or charged. You may have a good battery, but its not fully charged. Returning it to service will likely continue the cycle. Dont guess on the alt, use that volt meter and diagnose it.

I have an 07 Xstar and if both batteries are not charged up, the alarm will sound and get a chk engine on the screen.. When I rev up the engine I get 13.5 volts on the gage..

Check for a tripped circuit breaker by your battery switch..

Parker; you said your battery's were "cranking battery's"
For some reason I think you might have Non Deep cycle battery's. is this correct.
If so it may only take 1 or 2 times to fully discharge your battery's b4 they are junk.
You said you keep charging them but they never reach full that's another tell tail sighn your batts are junk. If you left a accessory on inverted night that would drain your battery and might junk it.
I would think the first step is to test both batts and if they are bad replace them. Get a voltage tester/ volt meter and test your alternators output
