Was that speedball off the wake? I never saw the double up rollers. It is fun to watch Shapiro, he has a great aggressive riding style.

malibuboarder75 08-04-2008 8:36 AM

His riding has definitely improved from the 12 honky days. His style looks a lot better than what people give him credit for.

eubanks01 08-04-2008 8:38 AM

Wow, that was crazy! The crow he did was HUGE. The Speedball was off the double up.

flyingdutchman 08-04-2008 8:51 AM

OMG that was straight up ridiculous. Awesome vid's as always from shapiro

hawkeye7708 08-04-2008 8:59 AM

that was some sweet riding... im diggin the aqua wagon in there... lol that was a CLEAN speedball when i think of the other ones i've seen in other videos as far as the landing goes

nsolis220 08-04-2008 8:59 AM

dope he rips hard and has some cool style the boardshorts are def adding to the style

jjakober 08-04-2008 11:35 AM

Miguel, how recent is that vid?

malibususpect 08-04-2008 1:01 PM

he will always be the man

migs 08-04-2008 1:02 PM

not sure - just saw it for the first time this weekend. Looks like hes riding a LF. So must be pretty recent.

jbarber3orange 08-04-2008 1:17 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the video that jjakober posted was he rotating the board over the rope on some of those spins? Or am I just seeing things.

jjakober 08-04-2008 1:33 PM

Yes, over the board. One of them is his Orbital 540 and I think the one at the end is a new one he recently came up with.

blind 08-04-2008 1:38 PM

JMB your not seeing things its called an orbital 5..................I think?

jbarber3orange 08-04-2008 1:45 PM

Unbelievable. It looks like he is really close to catching the rope with the board on that speedball too. Really a great rider that takes tricks to the fullest. I also notice he's riding the lyman 135 in the second vid. Nice

skatehawk11 08-04-2008 2:04 PM

how come i could never get my team 134 up in the air that high????

srh00z 08-04-2008 2:06 PM

Looks like his back is doing better, he was charging as hard as ever in the last video. It has always impressed me how much spray and water flies when he edges.

lfxstar 08-04-2008 2:11 PM

That vulcan was the biggest trick i have ever seen. The pop he was getting was insane!!

morgs 08-04-2008 2:18 PM

Throwing hammers...straight up!

innov8 08-04-2008 2:36 PM

Thats some crazy shiat right there!!

jtnz 08-04-2008 4:50 PM

Damn, that was massive... In that Russia vid he makes the wake look huge, guess he is a pretty small guy but flying high for sure. Madness.

wakedad33 08-04-2008 5:51 PM

30 something and still has mad game, looks like he could compete on the tour right now. I've had the good fortune to see some speedballs in person, impressive.

riverratboarder 08-04-2008 6:06 PM

He has Huge Pop. Thats the advatage to being 5ft tall and buffed. The Wake looks HUGE next to him. Poping him effortlessly and floating everything. still gots it!!!!

clearywd 08-05-2008 7:02 PM

Sweet video. He is a classy guy and he definitely still has it.

batman 08-05-2008 7:52 PM

Shapiro is like a pit bull on steroids. Strong, smooth, and always a surprise!

power_rider 08-05-2008 7:59 PM

i found that vid awhile ago and it still makes me crap a brick when i see how clean and big every trick is... i dont know why he doesnt compete anymore?

mattfla 08-06-2008 3:01 AM

Darin has progressed the sport more than anyone in history. He has so much power in his riding.

rmcronin 08-06-2008 7:09 AM

...and remember he was going that big behind a direct drive in the 90's. In my book, the biggest air rider of all times. It used to kill the other pros how he dominated the pro tour, but could do absolutely anything when freeriding. His rewind spins are total sickness.
