Anyone moor their boat attached to a houseboat?

Long story short my local marina refuses to do a monthly slip rental (although they have tons available), and want an arm and a leg for the year.

I have 2 friends up here though with houseboats in the same marina and I am allowed to tie up to the rear of their boats for free.

Anyone do this? I. Really getting tired of trailer in when I'm going out twice a week. Just trying to figure out what the most reliable option might be. I wish I had taken a picture last time I was out but the boat I would use is basically completely flat across the back, although sits a bit high out of water...otherwise I would just use a hull hugger and tie against the rear.

I'm assuming whips? Anyone use them long term or just for day/weekend use?

Thanks!

When my friend had his house boat, he had his tied up the back of it on his patio. It was definitely in a no wake zone and also out a bit from the main water way, but was just tied up with rope and bumpers along the starboard side.

I think Whips would be a great solution. My buddy that had the abovementioned houseboat was planning on getting whips, but then he moved.
