Diesel Wakeboard winch
 

Some friends and I are building a wakeboard winch for deep water starts. We got our hands on a 6hp Yanmar Diesel engine for free. My question is, since it is a Diesel engine do we still need a torque convertor to get the power we need or can we use the cheaper option and get the centrifugal clutch?

get the tav2 torque converter anyway… works way better than even dealing w a centrifugal clutch.
