Lake temp
 

Can anyone recommend a water temperature probe to mount at my dock? I tried a pool thermometer but it got nasty fast. I know the simple answer is to just pull the pool thermometer and clean it but what can I say, I'm lazy.
I'm looking for something digital that I can mount and then run a probe to the water. I found a few but I'm not sure if they are made to be outside all the time. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I have a pool one, that I just leave in my boat or house, and just drop in the lake for minute or so when I want to know - without dropping the boat the boat - the water temp. I think lake scum is gonna build up on anything you leave in the water.

The display is not water proof but I'll try to seal it up. Then I just have to wipe the probe off when it gets scum on it. If It fails I'll only be out $9.00
