Skim Board Question

I have a wood skim board from my days on the beach, has anyone used this type of skim board behind a boat? Its about 3'6" and has no fins. Thinking of adding the option of 3 fin placement on the board to help with stabilizing it. Thoughts or suggestions?

I have done it on a 36" wood skimboard. It was very hard to keep the nose from pearling. I was able to ride away from a 360, but I would not recommend one of those boards for behind the boat. There is not enough rocker, they are too short, and they hardly float. When they go under water they take a long time to float back up

Give it a shot to see how it works. I ride a 3'9" wakesurf skimboard that has a very small fin in the back that doesn't do much except stop your spins. It's fun to ride and it wouldn't really make a difference if it had a fin or not. Worse you can do is get on it and say it sucks, might as well try it out before you drill holes in it. Adding big fins to a skimboard really takes away the skim part of it as it can't slide around and spin like it's meant to. Even as little as going to a 2" fin from a 1" fin totally change the attitude to a really tame one.
