So this new point system is pretty sweet. Might get so unwarranted responses but will keep the board moving. But.. how do you check how many you have?? Ive looked around my profile but cant seem to find it. I stumbled across it yesterday but not today.

Found it, when you log in on the home page its on the main screen on the right hand side a few blocks down.

still a little confused how you earn points...I got a couple after filling out my profile and uploading a couple pictures, but Im guessing there are more ways, otherwise nobody is getting more than a handful of points. Do you get points just for posting or starting threads?

I've noticed points when making posts to the various forums and updating your profile. After that, I am not entirely sure what other points can be given.

I have one point after doing my profile posting to a thread and creating a group. I like the idea but its pretty unclear how points are earned

I think anything you do on here that takes more than a click earns a point:
posting here, pics, vids, classifieds, starting threads..... all get pts

watching a video will not get you a point or just reading others stuff will not get points

It appears pretty much everything you do will earn you a point. Really its a Sick Idea, great way to grow the sight.

I must say I miss looking at my profile and seeing something rediculous like 5400 posts from me tho-

I wish post count from before = current points, I'ld have some new clothes.

Yea im totally confused by the point system. Seems like something that might be used to add worthless posts to simply receive points. Hope they have some kind of safeguard in place for that....

200+ spam posts would be hard to do/and or not catch

The system has been used on other sites with success. The amount you can earn for one post is so small that it shouldn't cause a problem, and if it does, I'll just remove that reward. Like I said, we'll tweak it as necessary to make it the most effective. Not to mention the fact that if I think someone is gaming the system, I'll just yank their points. Big government, baby!!

i think its a good idea. i dont think there will be a problem with tons of posts though..

Looks like you can also get points for adding pictures and completing your profile. (I think) Great work Dave. Makes Wakeworld that much more fun.

on the main page where it shows your profile stuff, the last link will show you your points and if you click on it, it will take you to the store

i like the idea and hope it works out, i was thinking you should be able to sort of give someone points some how for a great post or great pic etc... granted it would have to be ran through pres first but how cool would it be if we all had a little bank of points that were ours to give to someone for something great. what do you think dave?

hey andy dont feel bad my post count was cut in more than half.

I don't know why, but my points are not accumulating....Maybe I am missing something though.

Jeff, I've just been informed that the first thing you need to do to start accumulating points is to add a photo. Not sure how that became the starting point, but that's the way it's set up. It might change down the line sometime, but that will get you started for now.

Thanks Dave - I uploaded a pic that I put together from snowboarding this weekend...Hopefully that works.

Do the different actions give different points? Ex. Picture = 3 pts. Post = 1pt etc.

I would like to know this too or is it top secret?

How points are earned will not be made public for a few reasons. Probably the biggest is that I don't want people trying to game the system. However, we'll also be tweaking it occasionally to make it more effective, so it's going to be kind of fluid.

I was just curious about how one might get at least 1 point. I updated my profile added a few pics and basically added some worthless.... i mean worthwhile posts, and no points yet. C'MON Man!!!
BTW, the site is getting much beter now that the bugs are being worked out.
