I should follow up that I have not used them personally...yet. I am thinking of using them for some custom sizes for my boat, however...

Having had hard tanks before and having them in my current boat, I will be putting sacs in. Hard tanks take up storage all the time, if the sacs are empty, you can stash things in those compartments. I have had luck with RV fresh water tanks though. You could contact a RV repair place and they may be able to put you in touch with a place that could custom make the tank. You can also get your dimensions and look for fresh water RV tanks on ebay, you may luck up and find what you need.

i second Stephen's suggestion just use sacs you can get more weight in the comp. and when your done using them u still have a compartment

I have the hard tanks out of our 2007 Sanger V230 for sale in the for sale section of this site.

X3 for sacs. There are some posts here how you can plumb them in for on top of your existing tanks or to totally replace the tanks. No brainer IMO.
|
yeah i told him about that but he likes stuff super clean and besides we never once put stuff in that compartment because we fill two sacks up to the top of the comparment everytime, and everything else fits nicely in the other trunk anyways.

ks that was the site i was looking for, thank you.

Sent you a P.M.

Any decent welding/fab shop can build you some aluminum tanks...but they'll be expensive...they're great for reliability and trouble free filling/draining...but they do take up more space.....I have used both, and prefer hard tanks....but I'm a welder so for me it's a just another project.
|
i love welding to, i think he wants to fab up some braces for the tank so that he can run one tank ontop of the other, just for added support for the stock tank.... all i know is with the kind of work he does it will deffinitly be sick and hold alot of water. we want to fit the largest tank possible in that trunk.lol also run a seperate pump and overflow.

nice.....sounds like what I did....Jabsco reversable pumps to a dedicated seperate intake scupper, wired lined hoses throughout (so they can't collapse....hydraulic grade), vent/overflow and your set. You could install a site glass or sending unit/gauge to check out your water levels too. Have fun with your install

jim do you have ay pics??

I'll take some this weekend of my CC, and I'll dig and see if I got any pics of my old Tige setup too.
|
Would to see some pics too. Sounds like a nice idea for the VLX, never used hard tanks, but always wondered about them. But having that storage when the sacs are empty is nice. Maybe I can weld up some smaller tanks that will still allow storage and we can still put sacks on top or have storage. Man now I've got all kinds of ideas in my head
