2011 Ecoboost F-150

Finally traded in my 04 F-150 5.4 for the EcoBoost, all I can is WOW!! Night and Day difference in towing. I'll get a couple pics up soon.

I want one and looked into it, but for the price of new trucks I'll keep my 2001. I like not having a car payment. Maybe next year

Very nice! I like the new Eco-boost. They run good!

Do you tow up any big hills? Towing 6k up the pass with a v6 seems impossible somehow.

They have a higher towing capacity than any of the other gassers. 11,500 in most configurations.

I am also considering a tradeup..

I havnt towed any super long grades yet like the grapevine but ive towed a boat with my 04 5.4 for the past 6 yrs and i can tell you this ecoboost kills that engine. This engine is 365hp and 420tq. The tourqe curve is like a diesel so your making 90% of your tourqe at 1700 rpm and holds strong through 5000 prm. 6 speed transmission and a legit tow mode with a manuel shift option makes towing really nice.

Looks real nice. Got any plans for it?

What's the hiway mileage like

bushtree 05-30-2011 10:06 AM

just upgrade from an '05 5.4 to an ecoboost here myself as well... Haven't had a chance to tow with the ecoboost yet, as they say to put 1,000 miles on the truck before towing. Only have ~300mi so far :/

Awesome little motor though.

stevev210 05-30-2011 1:36 PM

I havnt done it the "right" way yet but my on board mpg says I get 20-22 with cruise set at 70. My commute to work is all freeway. I actually drive a Mazda 3 since my commute is 80 miles round trip.

Nice - I bought a 2011 F150 Platinum and absolutely love it. I have never been a truck guy, but I still enjoy it like the first day I got it.

epic1 06-01-2011 12:03 AM

I got passed by one on the way to work today. He had a 19 foot boat in tow. Turbos sounded effing awesome. Like a new diesel, all turbo no combustion noise. Good looking and sounding truck. I should be able to afford a 2011 in 2020, but I cant wait!

All 6 of the Ecco Boost challenge videos are on Fords website if you want to see more, they're pretty damn cool.

I noticed your truck doesn't have the front license plate mount off to the side. You guys must not have to have front license plates where you live.

stevev210 06-01-2011 5:24 PM

Ya Hate, there's not a front license plate law over here in AZ. If you go to your local ford dealership theres a DVD they will give you that talks about the ecoboost and the new 6.7L powerstroke...very cool information.

Pretty impresive, his reaction time was perfect.
