Dang. That looked like she got some serious whiplash. I'm betting her neck was super sore along with other parts of her body. Brutal. I love wakeboarding but I honestly don't understand the obstacles. Seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

The "disaster waiting to happen" is actually what draws a lot of us to the sport. If we were afraid to get broke-off every once in a while, we'd be wake surfers. The risk makes the reward all the sweeter. Sometimes you kill it and sometimes you get killed.

There is a recent edit floating around the internet of Michella doing the killing. I'd share it, but I can't remember where I saw it....

I think it just depends if and how much "extreme sport blood" you got in you. Lots and you cliff dive, and use those flying suits. None, and you play golf. And everything in between.

My worst injuries are 3rd degree separated shoulder and broken ribs. Both from snowboarding. And both of those injuries were not from the rails and boxes, they were from jumps. So far nothing too bad from wake boarding.

^^ Give it time.lol. Just wait until you take off too front foot heavy and the nose of the board hits first. the immediate stop always makes for a fun time!

My worst injuries are boat (2 broken bones in foot), snowboarding (broke all the metacarpals in the left palm) and a broken finger on a badly designed ramp 18 years ago. I've hit the nose of the board on obstacles quite a few times, with the worst being a big bruise on my tailbone. When it comes to obstacles, there is a lot you can do and still not go crazy. I've fallen on stuff quite a bit. Generally I'd say it looks worse than it is. When you do break something, it'll probably be a fall that looks like nothing.

Yep, it's the falls that look like nothing where you get hurt. I've had so many bad crashes were nothing happened, but my ruptured pec was from just landing tail heavy on a crow.
