2011 Supreme 226 vs 2013 MB Tomcat Surfing mostly..... know about the wave on the tomcat.... anyone ever been on the 2011 226? |
We have a 14 226 and love it . the wave is super clean and long. what engine does that one have ??

Wish I was in a position where I could trade up,I'd be driving my V212 to Texas.

The 226 has an awesome surf wave when weighted right (1500ish lbs. surf side). I personally love the style and look of the 226 and would consider it, but since I mostly wakeboard and the wake is pretty poor it's a no-go for me. Wakeboard wake in my opinion is too wide and has a soft lip. Would be fine for the occasional ride but not if wakeboarding is top of your list (which for you isn't).
|
I would be careful buying a wakesurf-only boat, I think the MB will hold it's value better since it does both sports well.

Can't go wrong there for surfing. |
I used to have a 2012 MB and was not impressed in the surf wake. You had to load the boat with an additional 1500 lbs of ballast to get a good surf wake. I have not seen the Supreme surf wake but have heard it is a good one.

I had some nautique riding snobs (my good friends) out on a v226 last year and they were extremely happy with the wakeboarding wake. They were quite surprised actually. It will have a softer lip but it was a good size and stayed very consistent.

Just throwing this out there, but the best surf wakes I've ridden in order are: Supreme 226 (huge custom sack from locker to passenger's seat, 2 people) F-23 (custom gates and ballast, 3 people) G25 (loaded with 9 people and an 1100 in the walk way) Gated VLX (completely filled with all plug and play sacks on top of stock, 5 people) I admit I haven't rode everything, but as of now, that's my experience in surf wakes. All with considerably more weight and/or mods than stock. |
