You should stop posting this garbage. If you are going to do events like this you need to make sure the driver's know how to set up the boat if not the results are without merit. Get in touch with Robert at wake 9 he can give you some good pointers on how it's done.

I don't have anything to do with this event. Just passing on the video and results. And thanks but I don't need any help setting up my boat.

The southern Surf fest is held in my home lake yet I have never attended? It is a closed event only people that pay the 300.00 and are in the loop even know about it . Tige , Malibu and Mastercraft all do surf demo days on lake Lanier almost every week. I dont know anything about the people that make the rankings . I do know that if you take a 24 plus foot boat and fill it with so much ballast that it weighs as much as a cruiser you will probably get a surfable wake? Show me a 21 foot boat with a surf wake as good as mine yet still has a skiable wake and you will get my attention.

Who decides who is "first place" boat, etc? Wave is about preference...everyone likes something a little different. Means nothing, only uneducated people would buy a boat based on rankings like this. That said...would be fun to watch an event like this.

Not to mention, that MXZ was heavily loaded with extra ballast, and a lot of the competition wasn't. You can bring any weight setup you want......

I think the idea of running them any way they want is good....... for a fun filled day on a bunch of boats. However, not a good idea if you are going to turn it into a competition. If you are doing that, level the field to stock weight setups.

although this event was a spin off of the Wake-9 event, I havent like the concept at all.

It would great to see day-1 being that the entries are loaded with factory ballast only, no lead or extra sacs. Dial it in the best it can be with what it is. Then let the participants rank them

Day-2 is free style. Load the boat up with aftermarket ballast to produce the best wave you can get, then again let the participants score them.

$300 to surf as a participant or to enter as a boat dealer/manufacturer or board vendor? For real? Is this a charity event with proceeds going to some organization?

Speaking of Wake9, what happened with him and Tige'? Is he a Supra convert now?

Like others have said, you can load any boat up and create a great surf wave. No MC boats were there (i.e. X23, XT23). I find is interesting that the Malibu's are better than the Centurion/CC.

I feel like there needs to be a stick vs. stock ranking system with all models available.

It's all relative. You will find others that choose a different top boat. The truth is most manufacturers are making a good surf boat these days. For my money the Ri257 is the current gold standard but there are others that are close to it.

@travis, I guess the short answer is yes, I am a Supra convert. The long answer, we did in an off season video.
