2014 Perfect Pass group buy

Anyone starting this yet?

Jmorlan 01-17-2014 11:51 AM

There was a thread somewhere, but didn't get much traffic nor gain traction I guess.

But, I'll drop my "I'm in" with this thread as well.

beleza 01-17-2014 1:26 PM

I need to upgrade to staircase so if that counts then I am definitely in

beleza 01-17-2014 1:27 PM

Ha not staircase. Stargazer!

PartsGuy 01-18-2014 12:49 PM

I'm in for stargazer. I need the old style with the servo motor.

SESanger 01-18-2014 12:50 PM

I could be in for a StarGazer Wake Edition if the deal is right.

rdlangston13 01-18-2014 2:03 PM

im down for stargazer wake edition

seth25 01-25-2014 5:49 AM

I'm in for stargazer as well

rlwagens 01-26-2014 9:34 AM

There might be a group buy on planetnautique in mid-march if anyone is interested and this one doesn't get going. Link here.

If not put me down for a stargazer here as well.

DuckHuntin1 01-26-2014 6:41 PM

Looks interesting. I've got this on my to do list. I'm in for the Stargazer Wake Edition if the numbers are good/better than.

gpd005 01-27-2014 9:25 AM

I'd be interested in this as well

Projected price

In the past what has a "group buy" done to the price of stargazer?

TeamAllen 01-27-2014 9:40 PM

Here is a link to the group buy I put together last year with Florida Inboards.

canucked 01-28-2014 7:36 AM

I would be in for stargazer (depending on price)

TeamAllen 01-28-2014 7:54 AM

Group buys aren't allowed on this site, unless they advertise on here, so you will have to look at the other sites for an organized group buy.

Is the group buy still valid?

TeamAllen 01-28-2014 8:49 AM

It looks like you can get in through Planet Nautique. There is a link in the 9th post of this thread.
Every time I have tried to organize a GB on this site it gets deleted.

You've got "group buys" going on all over the place - on manufacturer-specific sites everywhere. Flag holders, perfect pass, quick-release mechanisms.

Not sure - but it seems like you've got some skin in the game. Smells fishy . . .

TeamAllen 01-28-2014 10:02 PM

Skin in what game? Like I get a commission or something? I like saving $$. I am a contractor with a family and money is always tight. I have an older boat and try to save where I can. When I find a good deal on a desired product I like to pass it along, with nothing extra worked in it for me.

I have found with a GB you need a group. One forum doesn't seem to get the amount of participants required, so I spread the word. Here is proof of it on the PN Forum.
http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...Group-Buy-2012
They couldn't get enough in 2012. The GB was closed down in post #40 of that thread. They only had 5 participants. The next year I contacted the same dealer and spread the word through inboard specific forums and 40 boaters benefited from the discount.

I have only set up 3 GBs, as you mentioned. One for PP last year, one for Comptech trick release and a flag holder. I have asked for permission from the sites admins (including WW = not allowed). It takes me a lot of effort to keep up with all the sites. I have benefited from others setting up a GB and appreciate their efforts and don't mind contributing my time. I guess I have been too aggressive in marketing? I just don't want another boater to say, "How come I didn't know about that deal?"

I have never met any of the dealers of these products. The ONLY benefit (other than saving $ like the other participants) I have received from organizing these three GBs is from the flag holder. The owner sent me a flag holder for free of his own generosity. I did not ask and was going to buy it like everyone else.

I don't have anything to do with this years PP GB, but my hat goes off to the guy that does!

Jmorlan 01-28-2014 10:04 PM

I had been wanting a flag holder, found that group buy. 20% coupon worked for me. Was only about 6 bucks, but I was going to buy one anyway, why not save some beer money

jhartt3 01-29-2014 7:03 AM

I'm working with Jody and setting up this group by. check out my posts at Planetnautique and the crew. this post will probably be deleted from here since dave hates saving money

jhartt3 01-29-2014 7:04 AM

PM me if you want one and i'll put you on a list

jhartt3 01-30-2014 3:29 AM

dont hate on Team Allen he saved me over 300 bucks last year. i have a new boat this year and i'm working with jody to make this happen again

DuckHuntin1 01-30-2014 4:01 AM

Thanks for trying to get something like this going it seems like a good idea but a little shady. So I'm out. Good luck.

jhartt3 01-30-2014 5:41 AM

how does it seem shady. you work directly with jody at Florida Inboards and send him all your money. you get the same great customer service from PP as if you bought from them since Florida Inboards is an authorized reseller. PP actually called me last year to confirm my gauge color b/c they thought it was wrong. To each his own but saving this money buys a lot of gas and beer and has no risk.
