Electric Wakeboard?

I'd take one, but I'd have to be 1/10th the price. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Looks like a new surfjet from the early 80's - http://www.mysurfjet.com

I think it is kinda goofy. I rode a Surfjet years ago and it is a lot tougher to steer than you you'd think. That said, I think It would be a blast to rent for a PM.

That looks like a blast! But I'm not sure about calling it a wakeboard.

And here I have been paddling my SUP like a sucker all summer!

Should be on a pop up; "Wake-Boarders hate this guy"

mcdye 09-25-2014 11:23 AM

surfjet, aaaah I remember renting one, back in the day....

downfortheride 09-25-2014 11:29 AM

That looks like a blast! I'm with Andy, why paddle, LOL...

jhartt3 09-25-2014 11:42 AM

looks fun ... but costs more than my boat did and can only hold one dude

No idea what an electric surfboard has to do with a wakeboard. Wouldn't mind trying it though!

fly135 09-25-2014 2:42 PM

I expected at least a few shots of hitting waves in the surf, and surfing a few.

Nintzel, should have gotten yourself a http://www.wavejet.com installed in your SUP.

Ya, definitely not an electric wakeboard. Also kind of sucks if you're just wakeboarding in the flats with no WAKE to jump. Pretty much a flat jet ski.

As Matt said, just a remake of the old school surf jets. My dad used to have one of those back in the 80s and took me out on it. Kinda fun, but kinda gimmickey IMO

I'm surprised that jet-surf has not been mentioned in relation to this on the gizmodo site or hear yet. Its fuel driven, not electric. goes 30mph (35 on pro model) weighs half as much and can run for 4 hours. http://www.jet-surf.com/en/

great to see electric models though. I think i like their competitor mentioned in the article better

I contacted Jet surf at the beginning of the year for a price and the low end was around 13K low end and the top end was 16k plus if I recall. We were looking into getting a new toy for the lake and I found this. At the time I didn't know it was a foreign company and the price tag was a big wow factor. I could buy a new jet ski for that price. I wish I could find my email from them, but I deleted it I guess. I had more exact prices with shipping to California.
