I am looking for two speakers for my tower. We usually fade the sound to the tower speakers only when we ride. Which tower speakers give good quality sound without some of the power going through the sub, etc. I have been looking at 8" Dbot5's and 7.7" Bullets. Are there any others that sound great alone?

Bullet Hollow Point 770's are on sale for basically 40% off until 10/31/09...I picked up 4 for my boat but haven't mounted them yet.

We are having a great experience with the Exile XM7's.
http://www.exileaudio.com/marine/

I just added 4 wet Sounds Pro 60 to my Evolution tower. They sound great.

I second Brady.

The Exile XM7's are a great tower speaker. The have great sound quality to them as well as a good range. They have some good innovations for added security with the ability to disconnect quickly so you can store them off the boat. The clamps have the ability to allow you to rotate the speakers 360 degrees. The clamps are also able to be taking a part and mounted on to the factory locations of some towers.

One other thing Exile is doing, you can demo the XM7's for 30 days. That way you can hear how they sound for yourself.

I have heard a lot of tower speakers but the only ones I've heard from inside the boat are the Bullet 770's. I'm like you I fade it 80% to the tower when we ride but unlike you I still have the sub going too. I can honestly say that the sound that fills the boat from these is very good, not audiophile stuff mind you but good none the less. They produce rich highs and warm mid bass. I'm certain if amp'd and tuned properly you won't be disappointed.

Thats really cool that Exile is offering that to their customers.
