I need your thoughts because I know nothing about boat audio. I have 4 Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch speakers that i plan to put on my tower this winter and a 10" subwoofer that I already have. Would a Pyle 2000 Watt amp be enough to push the tower speakers and the sub? Pyle is garbage. It's flea market junk.

I'm really just looking for something decent. Any thoughts? I don't have wetsounds as you can tell, and i'm not even close to that range, but I also don't want to buy crap.

As far as cheap amps go the only first hand suggestions I have gotten is for the Hifonics stuff.

I'd try this amp it's made by maxxonics same company that makes MB Quart now and Hifonics as well as crunch. I've heard they aren't to bad, some guys use the sub amps for competitions. Keller - I just upgraded my system to Wet Sounds. My old system was 4 Polk Bullet tower speakers, 10" kicker sub and 6 Polk boat speakers. This was powered by a Autotek SM2-400 and SM4-800. Thanks guys for the suggestions. Is the peak wattage on the speakers what I should worry about and make sure the amp has more than the combined total? How many channels would I need for this set up?

You only need to be concerned about rms ratings. You could do it with a two channel amp but a 4 channel would be easier.

Are the Autoteks mentioned above marine grade or are they regular car amps?

Regular car amps but that's what 85% of what people use and have no issues. You just want to mount them up off the floor in a dry place.
