2006 Mastercraft x30 wake

Hey guys, Ive just recently brought a 2006 x30, with stock ballast i can only run a max rope length of 60 feet before the wake curls over, have tried putting a extra 800lbs in the nose have to run at 24mph to get out to 65 feet, any tips on how to push the wake further back? Thanks in advance, oh and there is no plate on the back :)

How sure are you about the speed? Have you checked it with GPS? My buddies prior boat was the same year and model - routinely rant it at 20-21 and 65-70' with a nice clean wake. It did have a trim tab, but it was never used. I'm thinking your speedo is off - says 24 but the boat is actually going much slower?

My guess is your speedo is off as well unless you have extra ballast in the boat and are heavily loaded.
Download one of the free GPS Speed aps on your phone and go back out. If you are on a river and there is a current you will need to account for that also. If you are on a lake should be real easy.

my speedo was off as well on my 2006 X30. Readjusted with speed app on iPhone, works great. Also i do have the trim tab that helps a lot with surfing. My surf wake is clean and awesome/

Thanks guys ill try that this weekend :) how do you guys reacon the best way to weight it is, 50/50 front and rear or?
Thanks for all your help

It's been a few years since my buddy sold his, but my recollection is we were more like 60/40 toward the rear. There's a personal preference aspect as well and you might like a different ratio. More weight in back to make the wake steeper, more weight up front for a longer ramp.

i run side i am surfing full, plus center full, opposite is empty. 800 piggy back on surf side rear. Helps if i put 1 person up front.

oh and center trim tab is all the way down,, really cleans up the wake

That particular hull likes a 40/60 split front to rear to get the wake with a nice lip.

As Mentioned check your speed via gps because that particular model X30 is known for being more on the rampy side but clean.

we enjoy it for sure,, tried not putting the trim tab down, but just to white washy for me! I like clean!
