02 X30 is it a good boat
 

I might have found a deal on one would it be a good all around boat for a family starting out in the wakeboarding, surfing, and can I still ski behind it?

I purchased an 03 after selling my 08-X15. I truly think the boat offers a great wake. I customized the ballast system with 750's in the rear lockers, 500 in the ski locker, and 500 u shape in the bow. I also slalom ski and can say the wake is pretty large for anything other than recreational fun. I wakeboard first and find the wake is great. The surf wave is pretty good as well with just the 750 full on either side. As far as a family friendly boat, it's great!

Yep, it's great. I have the same hull without the factory "X" package (2000 MariStar 230 VRS). Lots of space and storage. Good wakeboard and surf wakes. I can't comment much on the ski wake but I assume it's not ideal nor would any 23' boat be. Any boat that's good for wakeboarding and surfing will generally not be a fantastic ski boat. It's likely fine for recreational skiing though and obviously has the power for it.
