rope handle foam replacement?
So I have a rope that came with my boat. Not sure on the brand or if its even meant for wakeboarding. It has a large handle and a small above it. Anyways the foam around the handle tore off. I looked at it quickly while I was on the boat and it doesn't look like the handle piece detaches.
Has anyone replaced the foam handle cover? In my redneck ways i was thinkong of getting some pvc insulation foam and zip tie it on the handle. |
It can be done...you can pick up some traction mat material like hydroturf and glue it on. I tried it without a lot of success. Mine ended up coming back off
after a few uses. I don't think I allowed the glue enough time to set properly on mine before trying to use it. I would just pick up a new one with a good stitched cover. Should last a lot longer. The zip ties would kill your hands. |
Where can I buy that. I figured one on each side and one in the middle for zip ties. Plus gloves

Tennis racket wrap. Wally world for about 3$. A little spray tack on the handle before wrapping.
Redneck checking in.. |
I picked up one similar to this...
http://www.amazon.com/Proline-Hexago...andles+proline someone gave me the piece of hydroturf so I can't help you there |

Does that provide good support. I feel like the foam takes some of the brunt and makes it easier to hold. |

U could try and gypsy something up, but you still end up needing a new handle at some point IMO....I know they aren't cheap but I typically go through a handle every year and a half or so...

I was thinking that you could try the tennis racquet wrap too. I think it is probably time for a new handle as I don't expect you to find any of the fixes to be acceptable.
