I curious to see what the levels are for our lakes. I'm in Central CA and was at McClure a couple weeks ago, water was pretty low. Temp was around 68.

What is Don Pedro, Melones, Bullards...etc looking like these days?

richnnorcal 04-29-2008 10:11 AM

folsom last fri was 67 deg., today folsom marina shows 68.1 deg.

regalado1 04-29-2008 10:14 AM

Folsom is still really low. I sooo miss when that lake was full in '03 and '04.
Take care of that shoulder, Rich!!

dadthedriver 04-29-2008 10:55 AM

We are full and water is 75 degrees. Have to love the private wakeboard lake.

mkperceptions 04-29-2008 10:51 PM

the thing I hate about the lake water level thing is it really doesnt give you a sense of where the level is. I want pics etc? Someone told me melones was down further than last year. I have no idea how that is possible after last year we only got 50% or normal rain and this year we got 100% so if anything should the reservoir be up like 25%. someone help me make sense of this?

nvboarder 04-30-2008 3:14 PM

Their is still a lot of snow up in the mountians. The temps have been colder longer this year and the snow pack hasn't really melted yet. But what I have read and heard is that most lakes will be low this year. We need an above average winter to get us out of this, and some rain in March and April would help also, thats what has hurt us the most.
Oroville is about 200' down right now, haven't been anywhere else yet.

shellyrn 04-30-2008 4:13 PM

This time last year, Oroville was at 869 ft, currently it is at 753. A smaller amount of water=less boating space. Less boating space and already more boats than last year =ugly

mkperceptions 04-30-2008 11:02 PM

Any hopes the snow melts and we get more water? How in the world did we get more rain and there is less water?

braap13 04-30-2008 11:54 PM

Problem is that since we had such a dry last year, the rain and snow is recharging the groundwater instead of flowing into the rivers. There still seems to be some snow left but all the lakes look like they will be low this year. If we have a wet winter next year the lakes should rise a lot more.

wakeboardertj 05-07-2008 12:21 PM

went to bullards last week, 62 degree water, 79 degrees air. it was freeeeezing.

jarrod 05-07-2008 12:36 PM

That aint freezing!!

62 and 79 sounds lovely. Really these are the perfect conditions. By the time the lakes reach 70 degres+, they will be packed with people.

05-07-2008 12:52 PM

Freezing..........?

J-Rod......did you just say lovely?

trevorcurry 05-07-2008 2:24 PM

Folsom has been just fine... besides the stupid wind all the time!

It was butter on Tuesday though.

regalado1 05-07-2008 3:50 PM

Last Saturday the water in Don Pedro was absolutely marvelous at 79 degrees.

jarrod 05-07-2008 4:28 PM

alright....hold up for a second...

How is Tulloch 60, and Pedro 79?

dnannen 05-07-2008 4:34 PM

Sac river has been magnificent!

I think around 62...

jarrod 05-07-2008 4:37 PM

That sounds just glorious.

I tried to ride the delta Monday and it was horrible.

mcwakerider 05-07-2008 5:02 PM

pedro went up? i was there two weeks ago and it was around 69. Tulloch was cold!

wakeboardertj 05-07-2008 6:37 PM

60-63 with no wetsuit is pretty darn cold getting in, once you get up its fine though.

05-08-2008 5:11 AM

Alright fellas, now that's quite enough..........with all these splendid suggestions, I believe there is more rising than just the water temps......

regalado1 05-08-2008 6:13 AM

Oops. My bad. I meant 69 not 79. I'd still be out there if it was 79. A wonderfully magnanimous 79...Alright maybe that's stretching a little bit...

sixeye 05-08-2008 10:26 PM

San V web site says 66, which means it's probably more like 70 on the surface.
