axis a22 vs t22 opinions wake difference
 

I am thinking about "upgrading" from my 2008 super air 210 team to either a 2015 or 2016 axis a22 or t22. we wakeboard 95% of the time. so is there any difference in the hull between the a22 and t22? wakeboard wake any different? I am guessing surfing is great on either for the 5% of the time.

Another consideration is engine choice...
350 comes with 1.72:1
409 comes with 1.48:1
450 comes with 1.72:1

My buddy has the 450 and I would prefer that but it is very rare to find used...but i have heard that totally slammed the 350 might be a bit of a problem. don't know what to think as it seems that virtually all of them out there are 350...

I've never heard of "upgrading" from a Nautique to an Axis. How does that happen? LOL

OP, the T is a rampier wake than the A, which has a touch more lip. I prefer the T wake, as it is a lot more like the old x star.

Get the 409 with at least the 1235 and you'll be happy, up the prop if you're gonna push a ton of weight and the wedge.

What is your altitude ? The 1235 isn't enough if you're above 4000'

With any Axis, I HIGHLY recommend a 15" prop.

No experience with wake differences in the two models but definitely go with the 2016. 5 year transferable warranty with the 2016 and 1 year (+1 for just part costs) on the 2015s. Also the 2015s were the first year of the PCM engines and there are some bugs. Also a couple of guys with 2015 A22 have been seeing cracked hulls due to stringers cracking.

That being said, I have a 2015 A22 with the 350 and never have problems getting on plane as long as I add enough weight up front (with a small crew) and I run the 1100 rears.

We've got a '15 T23 with the 350. Wake is great and it comes out of the hole 'okay' with it loaded (I can't fill the additional plug and play back sacks all the way - only about half if the wedge is down and with 8+ adults in the boat). No complaints though, the wake is awesome.

I have a '15 A22, 350 with the 1235 prop. It's definitely a wake machine. Prefer the pickle fork over the traditional bow but you can't go wrong with either model. We don't have any issues planing out, just be sure to add some extra bow weight like was already mentioned. The wake is really easy to dial in (big and clean), and the surf wave is pretty legit too...

That surf wave looks sweet. Rider is so far back compared to my A20.

These boats are so close in the wake/wave department its hard to tell them apart. I'd probably lean toward the A22 having a better wake/wave but it's really close. I will say the A22 has more bow rise and less seating behind the windshield than the T22. Both are great just depends if you want a traditional bow or picklefork. Also, get the high torque prop. T22, wedge, stock full, 650 bow triangle, 450 each locker (may not have been filled all the way), 21.8 mph at 70', passenger and driver.

Second pic same set up 3 people. If you add about 200lbs to the bow it gets bloody huge. Any more and it gets almost too mellow unless you up the rear weight.

I am 6'1" for reference.

The A is the better wake. And it will get there without filling the bow with sacks.

I love the wake and wave on my 15' A22 with 409 and 2419 prop
