Looking For New Boat
 

Hello, I am looking for some advice on my next boat purchase. I just sold my 2003 Wakesetter VLX and I am looking to upgrade. I really have it narrowed down to the following boats:

2010 Axis A22
2006 - 2008 Malibu Wakesetter VLX
2006 - 2007 Nautique 220
2006 - 2008 Nautique 210
2006 - 2007 Nautique 226

Can anyone comment about the wakes each of these produce? I know what the VLX can do and assume the axis is the same. I liked the wake on my 03 VLX so that is why I am keeping malibu on the list. I also have 3 kids so the more room or the better layout the merrier. I have no experience with Nautique but do like the looks and quality that I see in their boats. I suppose I am open to other brands as well if someone made a good case. I have had very good luck with my resale on the last 2 malibu's that I purchased so getting one that didnt depreciate as bad would be a plus.(this is where Axis worries me) Any advice is appreciated.

I've never heard any complaints about the Axis wake, that is for sure.
210 Nautique, definitely pretty steep, but this boat will always have a following and resale.
220 Nautique - not bad but side to side sensitive boat - weight has to be even. good for surfing
226 - no clue (but IMO one of the ugliest boats CC ever made)

Well with the Axis being a value brand and already priced pretty decently brand new. There hasn't been a ton of depreciation on them. Some are even saying that they may hold their value better than premium brands because the demand for good wakeboats is there and given the choice between a newer value brand and an older premium brand at the same price used, a lot of people will choose the newer value brand than the older premium.

This is kind of like how a lot of people would rather drop $20,000 on a new Hyundai than they'd pay $20,000 on a 7 year old BMW.

Only time will really tell on how much they will drop in the long run, but they are in a pretty good position to not drop a ton.

I've ridden behind Just about everything a Mastercraft has to offer and a few Malibu's along with centurion and even an older Nautique 210. I absolutely love my Axis! If I didn't deploy for the military all the time nowadays (along with my recently busted foot), I'd be keeping mine. Here's the link if you're interested.
