I used to have an 06 Transcend with Transit bindings and it was heavy as sh*t, I have 07 shanes now and want a new lighter board, I'm thinking, Shane, Watson, One, Absolute platinum, or any others, what is a good board out there that isn't too heavy? thanks

wakinbakin 11-05-2007 8:43 PM

The platinum series from CWB claims to be a whole pound lighter than their regular boards. I've ridden the 2007 transcend platinum and loved it. The absolute is going to have considerable more pop than the transcend and the absolute will ride faster than your 06 Transcend. The 2007 Transcend is a new shape and is faster than the old transcend.

Yeah a pound off would really make a difference, isn't Ronix supposed to make really light boards also?

oaboards 11-06-2007 2:40 PM

The new gator board is like 5 pounds.

andy_nintzel 11-06-2007 2:59 PM

the new O'brien Coda is light as air.

cwb and obrien blow balls!!! fursur!

dlwsrider 11-06-2007 3:09 PM

if you want an extremely light board, get a Dark Core board from Ronix, their offering it in the ONE and the Covin from what im aware of.

they basically found a way to make one of the lightest boards in the industry, and shed its weight even more.

throw in a pair of Ronix Bindings, and you have paradise.

wakerider111 11-06-2007 3:12 PM

Slingshot wakeboards are the lightest thing i personally have ever experienced

flexnwake 11-06-2007 3:13 PM

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap 07 absolute Platinum?

innov8 11-08-2007 9:14 AM

what size Absolute platinum do you want?
135cm or 141cm?

dansmith 11-08-2007 9:16 AM

Would you consider $289 cheap?

http://boardersmall.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17730&cat=0&page=1

They also have the 135.

wakeboardcal 11-09-2007 8:17 AM

I want a 135 Platinum, Wow that is a great price for $289, why so low? I'm definitely considering buying it. So if it is about 6 pounds how heavy is the Shane or The One?

stephan 11-09-2007 9:12 AM

You won't be disappointed. I've ridden that board for a few years now & love it. Huge pop, decent landings and finless it releases so nicely from the wake. I've got my 07 but it is thrashed from a solid year of riding. Still pops like crazy though.

entrustclothing 11-09-2007 9:39 AM

slingshot all the way!!!!

andy_nintzel 11-09-2007 10:18 AM

P K (pk1)

you are retarded!

hawkeye7708 11-10-2007 8:03 AM

Havnt' had a chance to try out any of O'Brien's new boards they look pretty sweet though. My buddy's got the 05 Natural and he loves it. Real light board.

eargasm 11-10-2007 9:06 AM

My 141 Cartel is hella light, like paper thin light. But also shocks your nervous system when landing in the flats.

hawkeye7708 11-10-2007 9:37 AM

I noticed on my buddy's Natural that it seemed pretty thin, no doubt giving it the light weight. Of all the threads on here trashing broken boards, I've never heard much about O'Brien breaking alot of boards...with most of them being so thin, how are they on durability?

dlwsrider 11-10-2007 12:29 PM

My 08 ONE is lighter than my friend's 135 absoulte platty, you can hold one in each hand and really tell the difference. And Like i said, the Dark core Boards are freakin insane, the lightest board ive ever held, and yes, i have held a slingshot.

mucktoerider 11-10-2007 9:26 PM

SUBVI..........stinken light dude. be interesting to see how the Hype and Ronix compare for 08. Not trying to start a war,,,,seriously just wondering what is going to shake down for 08. I heard thte Gator gear shed some weight for 08 too.

mucktoerider 11-11-2007 5:57 AM

Murray and sub VI have the same material for core...comparable to the Ronix dark core. SubVI is obviously more money for good reason, Just look at it in person and try it, you will see what I mean. Murray is a sweet shape to. Surprisingly the Murray is cheaper than the Ronix Darkcore boards. Plus can not emphasize this enough...but made here in the U.S.A. To me that is a big plus. Same goes for Slingshot, and CWB highend boards.....made here=better quality.

hawkeye7708 11-11-2007 7:08 AM

Wish i could put my 06' Premier on a diet....love it...but could drop a lil bit of weight. The 08's supposed to be WAY lighter.

hawkeye7708 11-11-2007 7:13 AM

but my Roam is super light! haha

shavis 11-11-2007 10:48 AM

The Shane is super light...I love it...anyone tried the Lyman LF board. It looks similar....same weight????

wakeboardcal 11-23-2007 7:58 PM
