If you had $50k what boat would you buy for wake surfing?

Just curious, say if you had $50k and wanted to buy a boat for wake surfing what would you buy? Say in the 23-24ft range? What's the minimum HP you would want?

What about if you had $75k for the same type of boat. What would you be looking at?

A used tige for the 1st tier
A new tige for the 2nd tier

The older Tige's surf really well, but for 50k you can get fairly new. I think in the early 2000's range, Tiges surf the best. But newer than say, 2010-ish its all pretty much a wash....but thats just my opinion.

Agreed, a bu 247 would be sweet. I like those. they look nice.

I've got an 07 23LSV 500 hours all the ballast you could ever want. 2315 prop. I'll let it go for 43.5K

Valleywine 08-17-2014 11:04 AM

A newer Tige or Centurion 3-4 yrs old

adam_balon 08-17-2014 11:59 AM

I could not disagree more, but just in case, can you point to any $50K surf gate malibu's?

bstroop 08-17-2014 5:31 PM

My 07 Calabria Team-V. I'll give you 15,100 back and throw in a ton of gear. :-)

lbostons 08-17-2014 6:15 PM

I'd get a Centurion Avy or Enzo or a Tige 22Ve or 24Ve

A Sanger 237 or maybe a Supreme 226

lacofdfireman 08-18-2014 1:29 PM

I am actually going in partners with my Brother in law. He is more versed on boats and what to buy as I have never owned a boat and he sold a MC XStar awhile back. Thanks for all the replies and for those of you that have posted up yours for sale. A few of them have peaked my interest for sure... Still looking. Deciding if we wanna spend a little extra and buy new or just buy a used one..

rockballer 08-18-2014 1:36 PM

I would buy 10 used seadoos and then post pictures of my awesome ness on the inter web

50K-Centurion or Supreme 226
75K- Centurion or Supreme 226

I'll show these boats to my Brother in Law and see what he thinks..

wakebrdr94 08-18-2014 9:10 PM

If not Shawn's boat, maybe an NXT. It's a bit smaller, but it's 50k all day!

Tige 24ve, Centurion enzo 240, Tige rz4, Tige rz2, supreme v226, centurion typhoon and malibu 247. All will surf great. I would find the best deal that someone has already spent the money modifying for wakesurfing.

Things to look for.

Big ballast
FAE
Stereo
Low hours
Interior clean and stiching intact
perfect pass

Here are a couple tiges for sale.

that's a pretty liberal interpretation of $50k?

drnate 08-19-2014 3:39 PM

He said, "what about if you had $75K". :)
