383 stroker from PCM ex330

4 Attachment(s)
Hey guys.

I build 383 stroker from ex330.
I used eagle rotating assembly kit and neutral balance flywheel.

Also, I use stock MEFI injection system and any other component.
However, I needed to rewrite the MEFI file.
It needs exclusive softwere.

It has power more powerful than ZR450 and ZR409.
It has around 450hp to 500hp.

new 5.7" connecting rods
new cam 225/231@0.05' lift lobe angle 112

very cool! did you have to do anything to the drive to beef it a up?

wakebordr11 12-16-2014 8:06 AM

How fast?

Greeko 12-16-2014 9:46 AM

Thats awesome man!!! good job!

Yoshehiro 12-16-2014 3:59 PM

I didn't additional anything to the drive.
Couse, the boat has very big torque converter (= water!)

Please imagine this motor has power of more than ZR409.
especially, more than 2500rpm are strong.

bftskir 12-16-2014 4:44 PM

What max rpms? What max mph gps? What prop?
Nice job. Not easy to get a good strong tune on the mefi.

Yoshehiro 12-16-2014 11:24 PM

I think max rpm is over 6000rpm.
But I set rev limit at 5750rpm.

The boat doesn't have GPS, it has paddle wheel.
So, I don't know max mph and when boat is over 45km/h, it begin pitching because of the weight.

Prop is ACME422.
MEFI tune need software for tune.

this video is 377 stroker from ex330 on the 2002 ski nautique.
This engine have 4 inch bore x 3.75 inch stroke with stock camshaft.
low range and start up looks like kick on the back.
but mid range and top end is unsatisfying.

However, this engine is more powerful than ZR409.

What's the point?

Because he wanted to!

Maybe he wants to surf and load the boat with 15,000 lbs...

Who cares, Its a wicked project period!

Redheadd 12-17-2014 8:30 AM

Japanese engineering!!

All he's got to say is the engine is more powerful than the ZR 409. Which I think is sweet, but I still don't see the point. He doesn't have it propped or setup to go fast and its not going to pull that much more weight than a stock motor with a low pitch prop...

Yoshehiro 12-17-2014 7:14 PM

I already used stock(=ex330) with ACME 480.
The boat usually loads with 3400lbs weight and some persons.
I tried to 383 with ACME 480, but the prop was slipped and not go fast planing.
So, I took ACME422.

I cannot understand what is "point".
What do you mean point?
What do you want to see?

the point is there are MANY boat owners who have 5 - 10 y/o boats, that either will not buy a 125k boat or cant buy a 125k boat. but 10 grand and get a rebuilt motor with more power is a no brainer. thanks Yoshi for posting this info.

Yoshehiro 12-17-2014 11:55 PM

Sorry, I understood "what's the point" right now.

ski nautique's video is just reference.
This engine have power under the 383.
But water skier said very strong pull more than ski 200 with zr6.
I think engine power is needed to put more weight into the boat.
Stock engine and low pitch prop have limit.

Redheadd 12-18-2014 8:17 AM

No more limit!! This dude is bad ass!!

Redheadd 12-18-2014 8:17 AM

He's like "horsepower? ya I got 500!"

onetogofast 12-18-2014 12:13 PM

Who will tune it once you have the MEFI software? I wish I was smart enough and capable of tuning, I have to pay the shop in town to do my vehicles each time.

WheelerWake 12-19-2014 2:18 PM

This is the kind of project I like!!

Walt 12-19-2014 5:25 PM

Nice work !

Your raw water filter is upside down in the photo eventually you will develope an air pocket and loose pump prime!
