I didn't know where else to post this, but I just signed up for the Maven event and was wondering if the lakes are cold enough that I would need a wetsuit. Has anybody been out and what do you think? I'll be there in the morning soo....

Water temp at Canyon was 56. I use a wetsuit, but the others just trunk it. It all depends on how comfortable you are with chilly water and if the sun is out or not.

Good luck!

Ryan

(Message edited by bocephus on March 26, 2007)

What Maven session did you sign up for? I just signed up for the Friday morning one, I'm pretty excited, it should be a good time. By the end of April the lakes should warm up quite a bit more.

it was 65 on Sunday at Sagauro and 64 at Roosevelt last Sunday. It's actually not bad. I'm pretty much a wimp with cold water, since I grew up in Hawaii and have not been wearing a drysuite or wetsuite. However, 65 is a tiny bit cold when you first get in, but refreshing during the entire ride.

Just wait till the water hits in the 90's during the hot summer. My water temp gauge read 94 one day last year.

Grace - I'm going Friday morning, so I should see you there!

I think I'm still going to get either a spring suit or a top. I'm pretty wimpy in cold water. And it would suck to wake when your freezing to death.
