Ok i have a 2007 mastercraft x2. The prop on it now it a 14.25x14.5. Its top speed is about 39 mph and that is at 5300 rpms. It has stock ballast, plus the up graded fly high system(it has the xstar sacks in the back insted of the x2 sacks, and has integrated bow sack) If it is only my dad and i, i like to add more weith. SO i put a 750 in the front walkway, and a 600 as far back as i couild on the ground. Then i also added a 400 in the very front of the boat. I know this is alot of weight but the 750 sack prolly is only 500. ANyways the boat would never get on plane. I was wondering what prop one would reccomend to get it on plane and what this new prop would do to overall speed, performance, and gas consumption. I know this boat can handle this much weight because i have had the fly highh system slammed and seven people in the boat. THe only problem was it took five people in the front of the boat to get it on plane.

You answered your own question, that prop is good, you'll need to even out the weight, ie. friends up front. There's only so much a motor/prop combo can do.

Take that 600 in the back and put it in the front, either that, or ditch them both and get the 1100lb triangle and put it up there. Then pay a lot of attention when driving, Sooooo easy to dip with all that up there, but you'll like the results <BR> <BR>For example - in my buddy's early X star (205V hull) when we sac her out, we run 350 in lead, the integrated bow sac, and the 750 in the walkway. I know Nitzle runs a full 1100 in his nose with one in the walkway and close to 5K of weight. They just love nose weight <BR> <BR>(Message edited by dirwoody on October 29, 2009)

dont have your answer but check your email. Also call the guys at acme, they might have an answer for you, or you may have to add more weight to the front. Depends on boat and motor combo.

I have basically the same boat, the OJ Props are no good on it. Get an ACME 1235, you loose some top end but the torque it produces is out of the world. <BR> <BR>Darin I run the 1100 Full in the bow and just added the integrated customer sac for under the front seats, adding around another 350lbs to the bow. Then Of course theres an 750 in the walk way, a 650 behind that on the floor, and 750 on each side of the trunk, a 750 on the backseat, and one more 750 under the floor. You have to watch it driving but man it beefs up the wake. If my math is correct I am running right around 5100lbs now. It sucks gas, is a pain in the arse to drive, but the wake is giant 87 feet back at 27.5mph.

Acme 1479 is what I run.

I'd say call the guys at ACME. I know in my buddies X-Star with about 5K weight we run an ACME 1625 which is a 14.5X13.73, pulls out of the hole like crazy, totally dropped the top speed and burns more gas than the old 14.25X14.5

I have the fly high X2 package and run another 500-600 if surfing in the rear. I have the Acme 1479 and have no problems. Email Acme and fill out the stuff online. They will get back to you promptly and recommend a couple props and what you can expect from each.

What kind of top end do you guys with the 1479 get with no ballast?

Andy, that is a ton of weight in that boat. What do you mean that you put one more 750 under the floor. I don't understand this. There is nowhere under the floor to put a 750lb bag is there? <BR> <BR>I want to see pics of the wake ass well. It has to be huge.

The top speed was the funniest thing as I swear the X2 is already the slowest boat I've owned. The older I get the less I am concerned about hurrying around so it works for me. It doesn't seem any slower than before but I was told by Acme I would loose 2-3 MPH with the 1479 prop vs. the stock. The prop holds speed very well.

1479 with no ballast - 39-41 mph on GPS. That is with the trim plate down about 5%. With a different prop, I got 44 mph, but hole-shot suffered.

Assume you have the MCX motor. You can lower the pitch to our 14.25 X 14 or the 14.75 X 13. The 14.75 X 13 will be a beast while loaded heavily.

Andy - You still riding these days? I may be in town in the next couple weeks and haven't gotten any good wake pictures in over a month, trigger finger is itchy! That thing has to be completely DUMPED. It would take me a whole day to get used to hitting it, but I'm sure it's HUGE. When we're running about 4K we ride around 25 at 80 and I can't get used to hitting it, have to drop to abotu 2500 lbs then I'm perfect. Just need more time with the monster!

With the stock OJ, no ballast, half a tank of gas, a driver, and some ballast on port side to level her out - I'm lucky to see 39.5mph at 5100-5200rpm. <BR> <BR>Looks like I'll need 2 props next year. One for slalom/footing, and one for surfing/riding. <BR> <BR>Not willing to give up another 2mph with the 1479.

The stock prop for the X2 is now OJ 14.75 x 15.5 4 blade. Same hull as an 07. My top end is maybe 39 with 4 people in the boat, no ballast. With that much weight, only thing that will help you plane is weight/people in the bow or the wake plate!

If you're going to run 4000# you'll need the lowest pitch you can fit on it and you will really want a hydraulic wake plate.

Wow, all I use on my 2007 X2 is stock ballast and one 300 lb sac up front (no trim plate either) and maybe 3-4 people in the boat. Never had problems throwing inverts or going big into the flats with my setup. Would be nice to throw all that weight in, but I wouldn't want to deal with the gas money involved. <BR> <BR>Although, if I see pics of this wake at that setup, I may change my mind and add some more.
