Sold my boat looking for a new one

I sold my 04 tige 24v now I'm in the market for something new. I need some helpful input. 50-80k -prefer to stay on lower end but can go up to top end of budget. 75% surf, 15% WB, 10% tube/chill. I need a 23ft +fter, I was eyeing the MB B52 23. What else should I be looking at? Thanks in advance!

If you have an MB Sport dealer near by, it’s surely a really great option. We don’t have any dealership in the state but each time someone talks about them is pretty always good things. Good bang for the buck and massive surf wave.
Have some Moomba mojo and Mojo pro on the lake. Good boats too for the price. Maybe a bit less «*luxury*» than MB.
Moomba is simple, great all around and does the job. Don’t know your surf skill level but the touch’n ‘go button for surfing pleased lots of people.
They aren’t very much options for 23footer under 80K.

It’s up to you if you want new or little bit used.
leftovers or demos can be really interesting too.
A Centurion Fi23 maybe, I don’t really know the retail price of this boat, we only have the Ri series up here.

Im not a big fan of axis for surfing (and overall quality). If you were saying wakeboarding 80%, maybe I’ll said ok Axis should be on your list.

But if you go with a 2years older, that’s open you a whole lot of options in your price range. Pretty much every boats loose their price the first 3 years.
30% off a boat that only spend 2 summer and 80hours can be really interesting

I recommend you take a look at the Super Air 230. The Surf Wake with a wake shaper is unreal. Great wakeboard wake with stock ballast and it only goes up from there. You can get in an excellent used one in your price range and you can get in one that doesn't have all the unnecessary touch screen and electronics if you go with 2010 and before.

Mike88 03-16-2018 5:02 AM

I personally have a 2017 210 and just love this boat. 210/230 are so underated. We had a 2010 230 team edition and seriously this boat was still a good boat when we sold it in 2016. I had a wake shaper on it and the surf wave was comparable to my present 210. But The driving when using suck gate is pretty ****ty lol.. and we had a tons of people or fatsac in.
The NSS is really a great pos. I think 210/230 came stock with it in 2014.

just yanking yer chain. Good to know the "what boat should I buy?" threads will get plenty of posts.

CarFanatic5 03-16-2018 10:03 AM

also look at the tige R series. can be had in that range.

yodd_tost 03-29-2018 10:15 AM

I found a '17 mojo for 66k, IDK if that is the route to go though....so many options, I can't decide. My cousin has a MB and it is a really nice boat, fit, finish, wave ect. I am really having a hard time spending 90k on a new boat. I really want the best bang for my buck but also don't wanna compromise things. Most of the boats that fall into my range are the mb b52 23, tige 24v,z3, nautique 230, moomba mojo, axis a24,t23....any others you guys would recommend?

CarFanatic5 03-29-2018 10:58 AM

look at tige z3's

yodd_tost 03-29-2018 11:03 AM

what year z3's?

CarFanatic5 03-29-2018 11:37 AM

2012-2014

racer808 03-29-2018 12:29 PM

I was in your boat, no pun intended, & was willing to go up to 80-90k. I demoed tons of boats & at the end of the day I found a 13 B52 w/ GSA installed that was better than all of them minus gadgets & some other nicetys I don't care about. The wave is amazing, powerful & a suck gate gives me a totally different wave as well so I have a few waves to play with on one boat that has been solid, solid interior & I saved 40 grand getting it. The only issue I've had was the tower break but after a lot of swearing, some welding all is well again, but now I am terrified to add more tower speakers.

h20king 03-29-2018 3:24 PM

Supreme S238 should be in your price range. We had one and loved it. A friend of mine just picked up a loaded 16 238 with 177 hours for 63k

Reddog78 03-30-2018 7:28 AM

I got 79 racks how should I spend it!!!

wakeworld 03-31-2018 10:23 PM

How about a beautiful 2014 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV?

buffalow 04-01-2018 7:28 AM

I have a 2014 MB TWB 23' for sale only inboards in California. On the lower end of your price scale. I don't think I am supposed to post the link here, but it Blue and White X

SoulSurfer 04-01-2018 10:20 AM

FWIW I bought my 2016 MB F22 brand new in May of 2016 for less than what you are looking to spend out the door. Granted, I went light on the non-eseential options...and that was two years ago.

yodd_tost 04-02-2018 12:58 PM

Jason I don't see your MB on OI....Another question....What are the benefits of buying new vs a boat 2-3 yrs old and saving some $? Again having a hard time spending 80-90k, but I will if it makes total sense...

Another thought too....What if I buy and 40-50k 23-24ft boat and just add GSA? then I could save some serious $$....if I have that mentality what boats should I be looking at? So many ways to go....

h20king 04-02-2018 3:49 PM

You sold a 04 24 ' boat that surf's well. What were you looking to accomplish? If it was to upgrade then spend the cash and upgrade. All the bells and whistles cost money. You can save some money buying used but if you plan to keep long term. You get the full waranty and you know how the boat has been treated from day 1 not to mention if you order you get exactly what you want.

infinitysurf 04-02-2018 7:14 PM

Lots of good used boats that will surf great with GSA or a suckgate.....but you know that, you sold one of the top surfing older boats in the 24v, did you think about adding GSA to that? Assume you are wanting something newer with the bling and options. Centurion makes some great hulls in the SV/FS/FX model, SV244 is what I have and a friend up the road just bought an 2014 SV233. The SV233/244 are both great boats and you can get a used one for 50-60 depending on age, options and condition. My buddy that I surf with on the regular has an 06 Malibu 247 with GSA. 5k lbs of ballast and it kicks a great wave. You could get a Supreme 238 for lower end of your budget, Harold had a 2016 that he says was awesome and at lower end of your range. With your price range, you can take your pick of something used in great shape and add GSA if it does not have a surf system, or go new with a few of the above mentioned brands. In past, I have always bought a couple years used cause the kinks are worked out, you don't take the big depreciation hit and plenty of reviews out on the boats so you know what to expect. Most boats have 5yr warranties too, so long as you pay to transfer it on a 1 owner used boat, you will still have that for a year or 2 if that matters to you. Biggest perk to brand new is full warranty and knowing how boat has been treated since day 1. You could probably find a great deal on a 2017 too, dealers want to move them out. Don't wait too long tho cause prices will go up as riding season gets here.

yodd_tost 05-21-2018 7:04 AM

Still on the hunt. I really need to be in the 50k range now. Yes I thought about adding GSA to my old 24v. I was in a position where I needed to sell it last summer....and yes I wish I still had it in some ways. Seems that most decent 23-25ft boats that are newer as in 2008+ are closer 60k+. Tax is killer. Adding 10% is really making it hard to be at 50-60 k cause I really want to be at 50 I have to find a boat at 45....

yodd_tost 05-21-2018 8:03 AM

Got my eye on a 09 nautique 230 or a 09 malibu 247....both w/ 400hp motors, any thoughts on either one?

migs 05-22-2018 3:24 PM

230 all day every day

Surfer101 05-22-2018 9:29 PM

It’s gonna be hard to get a boat in that price range with an equivalent wave to the 24ve..

Surfer101 05-22-2018 9:31 PM

Just get another ;)

yodd_tost 05-23-2018 6:51 AM

The thing I didn't like about my 24v was it felt under powered w/ the 6.0, if I get another than is smaller motor i know it won't work....I am also looking at the 09 malibu 247, '14 b52 23, and a 08/09 230, I am willing to add GSA to any boat I get, can you add gsa to the antique or is the nss the way to go? I just wanna make sure the other main components, motor, size ect are right.

joshugan 05-23-2018 12:25 PM

I don't know what options those boats come with but I think you'll be quite happy with the 230.

yodd_tost 05-23-2018 3:40 PM

Has anyone added GSA on a 230?

chattwake 05-24-2018 4:02 AM

I owned three SANTE 230's in my day. I will caution you. While the surf wave is great, the wakeboard wake can be touchy with anything over about 800lbs over stock ballast. If you're not intending to put a bunch of weight in the boat, then it's not a big deal, and a 230 will be great. You start adding a bunch of extra weight and the damn wake has a tendency to wash out.

Now, there may have been some hull changes on the 230 since the last one I owned, which was an '09. I didn't know how old you were planning on going.

I had a 14 Axis A24, which I really enjoyed, and I have a '17 23 LSV, which I'm loving. Those are both solid choices.

Surfer101 05-24-2018 7:57 AM

The 24ve I linked has the pcm 343 which is a great motor... more than enough when properly propped.

yodd_tost 06-03-2018 10:23 AM

Looking at a ‘14 mb b52 23 or a ‘11 230....priced the same, same motors and features....the 230 is further away and I would need to ship for 3k, it also has a galvanized trailer. Which do I get?

Surfer101 06-03-2018 12:19 PM

Galvanized trailer often means it has been used in salt... which can be s scary... if not the 230 is a much higher quality boat but it won’t have NSS for an 11

yodd_tost 06-03-2018 1:05 PM

Hasn’t been in salt....that was the 1st thing I asked....the 230 will probably be 4K more than the mb after all is said and done. I wonder if you can do gsa on a 230?

Surfer101 06-03-2018 8:02 PM

Gsa will require more weight to sink it down, that’s just how the system works. I know people have added nss and had great success. Maybe check out planet Nautique fourms
