Ollie up onto a box slider

Hi Guys

I can ollie ok the on water. Not super high but ok. I haven't tried ollying on a box slider ( just over 50cm in height roughly). Can anyone give me some tips on ollying up onto an obstacle. I don't wanna smash my face at the first attempt lol. Thank you in advance.

Get close to it and ollie right next to it to get your comfortable speed and build some confidence. This is the approach we took when starting to use our floating raft as a slider.

The box probably has a safety ramp. Practice olling flat and landing flat. Even if you come a little short, you will probably be fine.

Once on the box knees, trees, freeze. Bend your knees. Keep your eyes looking far out in front of you (trees) and keep the handle down and don't spaz (freeze).

practice your ollies like anything else. helps to pump your front down to initiate the snap

I'm thinking you are wanting to ollie up on the box from the side where there is no safety. Get a little speed towards it and ollie. Keep the nose of the board up and you won't faceplant. Keeping the nose up will keep you from getting tripped up and falling face first. If you don't get enough height then you'll just bounce off the box back into the water. Most likely if you have enough speed, even if you don't have enough height you will still ride up and onto the box. Take it from this 62 year old that doesn't ollie worth a crap.... It's not that bad.
