Malibu with huge Wetsounds system at auction
2 Attachment(s)
Looks like it must be a repo and sold at auction today.... Be prepared for it to be for sale on the open market soon. Not sure who bought it, but likely a dealer... Whose boat was this?
He probably should have removed the 24 Wet Sounds tower speakers before the repo man came along. Could have saved him a few grand.
I heard it might not have been a repo, but that maybe one of the local dealers put it through the auction? Not entirely sure, so I don't want to start rumors. That dealer tends to get lots of repo's so it is possible they got it as a repo... Who knows. I bet it was a site to see going through the auction....
Strange? The boat showed up in another wakeword thread back about 3-4 weeks back? The boat was on Craig's list for $35k and then the add vanished?
Lol man, that thing SCREAMS.......
"I'm compensating for a short coming" |
There are a few auction I've seen where you can sell your boat via consignment at their auction house(s). You can also set a reserve price. Might be less hassle than dealing with craigslist for some people.
Ya because guts are always compensating with their toys right? Gtfoh
^guys
It is most likely a trade in. Weird/older boats do better at auction than they do at a boat dealership where that add to inventory costs and sit forever.
DISCLAIMER
Rumormill says the said dealer bought it from the guy in Cali that had it. Has tons of issues so he just ran it at auction. Again, could be a rumor. Will be interesting to see it pop up on the market soon and see who bought it. |
This was on Malibu Crew for a while. The guy was asking mid 40s for it, but hes got like 10k of speakers on it! I want to know where he hides all those batteries!!
Honestly not a bad auction buy. You could sell all those speakers for a pretty penny and finance fixing up the rest of the boat.
Guess it depends what they paid for it, but I have to assume the auction price was fairly low. |

Not sure what was hidden up here
The boat was on CL for $ 45k.
The bow has 4-15's up front.....and that's more like $30k in Rev10's alone. |
The tower would be swiss cheese if you ripped off all the speakers!
That boat is local to me. I'm guessing it ran through the brashers auction here in Rio Linda. I've seen that boat in person and heard the horror stories of how it's been treated. Wouldn't touch that boat unless I got it for 10 grand

It was sold to a dealer in Eugene, OR and then ran through the Eugene, OR Brashers yesterday. They probably bought it and found all the issues and then ran at auction. I am sure it will pop up at a dealer soon. Keep your eyes peeled
I would like to see what all was modified to accommodate that stereo.
I would have loved to see the dealers face when he started figuring out just WHAT he had purchased!

Tell me what's wrong in this pic
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c89f10b9d4.jpg |
Let's see, the trailer axles, the messed up paint/wrap, the extra front tower legs holding up the leaning tower of compensation or the fact that "it can't get it up" on plane?
I see it. Clearly, he could have fit one more pair of REV 10 on top of the tower. Look at that space between them.
Tim Wet Sounds |
I'm with Tim on this one, way to much space between those speakers
Ive seen that boat on the delta ..it was stupid loud and full of douchebags
27 bids already
What's wrong with it? My guess is that isn't an inverted penis actually a vagina? Who would own that pos????
Haha first comment got it. Trailer axles are about to snap.

Couldn't send him one more pair Tim? You sponsored this madness 😂 |

I did see it during the build but never heard it finished. Tim Wet Sounds |
Well he saved some money not needing a bimini.
Looking at the ebay pics, wonder what the compressor and air tank are for? Airhorn???
The Malibu rides again!!!!!!!!!!! I saw this boat yesterday on Folsom Lake (nor cal). First time seeing it in person. I was going to take a picture but my phone was tucked away. This thing sits pretty deep in the water, with all the batteries and speakers. Doesn't need ballast....lol.
He's a Delta guy. Completely obnoxious. Loves to crank hardcore gangster wrap as the families and kids are all hanging out at the marina, and then straight to the party beach with 20 people on the boat.

Yeah, this guy only had maybe 6-7 people I'm guessing on the boat and wasn't playing any music. Could very well be a new owner. However; all of those wetsounds were still on there and I'm guessing so are all the batteries with how low it sits in the water.
LOL - I've never seen a boat passed around so frequently.
I'm sure the guy thinks he got a smoking deal at auction and now he's gonna cash in!!!!!
Especially considering it was up for $ 45k before

Exile stepping up their game to compete with the wetsounds boat... ha

Wow this boat is being passed around like the high school slut lol
Yeah... If I were him, I would pull most all the speakers down and sell them and start making some of his money back. The boat will be more desireable to the masses with out all that gear.
Wonder what the wee little cheapy air compressor is for.
Trailer tires keep going flat.
Geeez, that is just ugly. It looks like a hornets nest. I just don't get it. Seems like one heck of a waste of money. Does it really sound that much better than just 4 tower speakers and one 10' - 12' sub? Just louder and more obnoxious. For the money spent you could do some much more amazing things. I'm guessing the original owner or whoever created this system isn't your typical born and bread family lake rat.

Lotta fists pumped on that boat. Wonder if this guy's related to LON?
Chatt: You should pick this thing up. You have not had a new boat in a few years so Here is your chance!!!
I wonder why no pic's or talk of the Subs in the boat???? |
Hell, even if you kept 4 of the wet sounds and sold the other 14 sets at 1/2 off, you'd have about 7K. Not to mention all the amps.
Subs are probably never mentioned because the new owners have no idea what is up there and can't take apart the vinyl without damaging it? For some reason I have a sick fascination with this boat. What does it look like under that terrible wrap???? What's under the rear lockers? How much of the boat was modified (damaged) to install this system? How bad is that poor double axle trailer hurting after towing around all that weight??!??!?! I have a problem! |
It is blu/white...
Trailer was beefed up a bunch!!! I cannot remember what subs ended up in it...they went thru a few different ttypes |

HAHA time to ask for help... Seriously though, what drugs did the OG audio installer take to decide to spend 20k on amps and speakers? Was there a boat audio competition? Did they win? Has anyone blown an ear drum? Is the wake insane at a speed of 25? Do they cover each speaker when storing? |
That boat screams "I'm an obnoxious douche!"

Actual system
I just wanted to clear up a few things about the boat. i was one of the original people who were involved in building this monster so I can tell you pretty much anything about the boat.
I mainly just wanted to clear up any questions about the audio system and that boat has the following components... (1) Mosconi 6to8 DSP for sound control and hi voltage out (8) Arc Audio KS600.2 amplifiers for tower only (32) Wet Sounds REV10 speakers (2) Arc Audio KS300.4 amplifiers for in boat speakers only (16) Wet Sounds XS650 coaxials (5) Arc Audio KS2500.1 amplifiers for bass only (9) Kicker L7 15" subwoofers. The subwoofer layout is 4 in the front bow ported into the center walkway, 2 in each rear locker ported though the rear seats and 1 under the drivers dash ported towards the hull. The boat also has 26 total batteries. 2 just for starting the boat and the other 24 are 6-volts linked in series. Also, (4) 40 amp on board chargers because this is a complete stand alone system and not tied into any of the boats OEM electrical system. It does need to be plugged in to keep charged and yes, the owner did have to upgrade the breaker system at his house to keep it charged. I am not involved in selling this boat. Like I said just wanted to clear up the confusion about the sound system. It is actually really sad what has become of this boat and the current owner doesn't even know what he has on there but if anyone else has any questions at all about anything on this boat feel free to message me. |
