2014 Hunting thread!

Always enjoy this time of year. Cooler temps are finally here (not that we had a bad summer) and fall is in the air.

Dove: Had some moderate success dove hunting in my buddy's backyard. I think we ended up with 10 birds each. supposed to be a great "year" for migratory birds but not sure how long it will last.

Got some corn on the ground, couple cameras out. Found some awesome sign on my new lease this year (last year sucked, got on the lease VERY late) and going to setup another spot this weekend. They thin-cut last year so there are some new lanes to scope out.

Post up how you did this year, anything different you're doing this year, where you are and what you're seeing out there!

Joe!! I knew you had some bruiser whitetails in MO, but didn't know you have elk! was perusing some google images, Eagle Ridge Outfitters does elk hunts apparently.... they close to you?

No, they are down south in the mark twain national forest area. The conservation dept. reintroduced them 5-6 years ago. However, you are right about the bruiser whitetails.

This giant has been showing up on my trail camera this year.

Dove has been pretty good here in KS. Thought last weekends cold front would push them out, but got 10 last night(should have had a lot more). Two weeks ago was good with roughly 50 birds.

anybody been out lately? should have been some kills by now...

ridemarktwain 12-04-2014 10:53 AM

I filmed my brother kill a beautiful 10-point. You can watch the hunt here: http://www.midwestwhitetail.com/gall...test-show.html

I also filmed my dad kill a big 8-point which will be posted this Sunday on the Midwest Whitetail Great Plain Show.

It's been a great deer season but I'm already missing wakeboarding.

Strapped a GoPro on my dog's back while pheasant hunting last weekend to see the game from her POV...

She snaps onto point at about 1 minute into the video.
