22' - 24' boat that will fit under a 7 foot garage door?
 

eventually going to upgrade from our '02 SAN, and will be looking for something bigger. We've got a pretty deep garage that can handle something up to 24 feet...but of course the issue is getting the boat under the door.

Are there any options in the 22-24 foot range that will fit under a 7 foot door? Appreciate thoughts/feedback.

FWIW a competent framer can increase the height of most garage door openings I think.

MB designs all their boats to fit under a 7' garage door. The B52 TWB 23 is huge and has tons of storage. It has 2,500 lbs. of stock ballast that fills and empties in a minute, PCM engines, and an amazing wake. Plus it costs $25k less than MC, Bu, CC, Tige, etc.

Our 2011 SAN 230 fits through my garage door...the frame is only about 6'9'' tall as well. I admit that I have a bit of a down slope on my driveway that plays to my benefit, but I did tons of measuring and it would have fit in a 7' door on a flat driveway as well.

MB is something to think about, but that's great news on the 230 Nauty. I must say I'm pretty partial to Nautique...we've owned our current boat since brand new, and it's really given us no issues other than a few small things for close to 10 years now.

SAN 230 is one sweet boat. Garage figment probably depends on which tower you get. The only way to know for sure on any boat is to do a garage demo.

The garage I stored our Axis A22 in last winter had a 7' door on it. Looked like it was going to be close, but fit without a problem.

Do a garage demo. We had to do that when we bought our boat. The dealer brought out the first boat, it didn't fit but the second boat did. Both the same model differant towers.

The new FCT 5 on the 210 and 230 Nautique's are designed to fit under a standard door. Once fully lowered the wind shield is the highest point (depending on tower speakers!)

The trailer makes a difference also. My 08 210 SANTE, Titan tower and a custom Boatmate trailer with 18'' wheels doesn't fit a 7' door. Try before you buy.

My vRide fits fine height wise. Depth, not so much. These freakin' new houses with their shallow garages. I can't even park my F350 in my garage. It's 6 inches too long.

i couldn't fit my 06 21'6 mobius into the garage, but my 04 20'6 mobius i could w/ no prob.

The answer to the question is relative to
1) a combination of the trailer height w/ the foldable tower height and
2) a combination of the foldable tongue length w/ boat length AND the added platform length

On my CC 230 on the illusion trailer, the top of the windshield is well over 7'6". The boat is 23'1.5" without the platform and 25'4.5" with the platform. Add an a additional 6" that the foldable tongue sticks out and you are approaching 26 feet of boat. Factor in wall width and I would need a garage w 27' of inside depth and an 8' garage door unless i wanted to drop air pressure in the tires and remove the platform every time I wanted to tuck it in a garage. I can't see adding additional work to leisure activities so that option is a nogo.

Most manufacturers do not build their own trailers and only MC has the option for a folding platform (that I know of), so the question is almost impossible to answer.

I have to pull my swim platform everytime we use the boat. Is it a pain? Hell yes. Is it worth it to have the boat in the garage safe and sound? Hell Yes! I have found a way to put on and pull off the platform by myself. It takes about a minute to put it on and about 2-3 to pull it off (I am usually very tired from riding all day by time I need to remove the platform).

I also take the platform off everytime we ride, which is a few days a week. At first it's kind of a pain, but you figure out the little tricks to get on and off quickly.

a malibu 247 with the illusion tower wont fit in a 7" foot door. just updated my garage with a 8 footer so my baby could fit. even at 8" the garage has to be all the way open or the board racks will hit the door.
