MotoGP - Circuit of the Americas

Anybody going down next weekend? We'll be there Sunday - Turn 1. Can't wait - even though they're predicting rain.

Well...

How was it? At least Dovi and Rossi made second place interesting throughout the race.

Marc Marquez dominated.

It was friggin awesome...

Only problem was that I prepped for rain and it turned out to be hot and sunny by the time the GP race went off (after a 40 min delay) instead of rain - so I didn't bring sunscreen - ouch! Lesson learned.

We were in the grandstand at turn 1 - fantastic viewing spot - but not so great for pics - I took a bunch but most sucked. Now I know why people spend 10K on a camera - because it's worth it.

Marc was Marc - stalked Dovi, set him up, then said goodbye and cruised to victory. Dovi/Rossi matchup was a good fight but Marc is on another planet.

I watched this event on tv. I don't keep up w/ MotoGP regularly. absolutely amazing how hard these guys can push the limits of those machines. At full speed you can't appreciate it as much as when you see it at 1000+ fps slo-mo. They're on the ragged edge of the laws of physics most of the time. I'm sure watching it in person is a whole other experience.

Huge respect for those guys. I've done a bunch of track days on bikes. And even after 6 laps at my level, I feel like I start to lose my mind and senses. I don't understand how they can stay dialed into the bike and track for that long and go that hard.
